Life simulator InZOI has made a massive change that will affect a future update that was previously announced for the game. This news will come as a welcome change for InZOI players, and should help to improve the upcoming update.
InZOI was first released into Early Access in March 2025 to positive first impressions. As a new competitor in the life simulator genre, it will always draw comparisons to The Sims, but InZOI did plenty to stand out from the crowd initially. Despite the buzz around its release and strong initial sales, InZOI‘s player count has continued to dwindle, with some believing that the current lack of content is holding it back from being as replayable as its competitors. It’s worth noting that as an Early Access title, InZOI still has plenty of time to bring players back into the fold when it’s more feature-complete.

InZOI May Be Destined to Follow in Palworld’s Footsteps
Life sim InZOI attracted an impressive player count at launch, but since then, it seems to be meeting a similar fate to Palworld.
As reported by PCGamesN, a new announcement on the InZOI Discord from game director Hungjun “Kjun” Kim has confirmed that the previously announced third city, Kucingku, has been renamed to Cahaya. This InZOI city will be “a resort-themed destination where players can enjoy some rest and relaxation away from the bustle of city life,” offering “a variety of vibrant and refreshing experiences across exotic islands that can’t be found in previous cities, such as farming, relaxing, boating, and exploring uninhabited islands.”
InZOI’s Upcoming Kucingku City Update is Now Named Cahaya
According to Kjun, the Cahaya update comes from a personal place, claiming, “While developing inZOI has been a source of great joy for me, there are times when I feel the urge to get away from it all. Inspired by these feelings, I wanted to create a retreat for players exhausted by the motions of everyday life to unwind in.” This is reflected in the activities on Cahaya, too, with InZOI jobs and schools entirely excluded from the island. Instead, players will engage in “a self-sufficient lifestyle through activities such as farming or fishing.”
No release date has been given for the Cahaya free DLC, although Kjun did note in the announcement that InZOI will be heading to Gamescom to officially reveal everything it has to offer. Recent InZOI updates have helped the game make great strides forward, so hopefully it can continue with this momentum even as more content is added to the game.
