- It features brand-new weapons, new difficulty options, and more.
In a shock announcement at Summer Game Fest 2025, it’s confirmed that the Overture DLC for Lies of P is available now. Lies of P is a critically-acclaimed Soulslike and generally considered one of the best representations of the genre not developed by FromSoftware. It didn’t take long after Lies of P released to critical and commercial success for DLC to be confirmed, but fans have been waiting years to actually get their hands on the expansion.
The Lies of P: Overture DLC serves as a prequel of sorts to the base game, giving them the chance to see what the world was like before the infamous Puppet Frenzy. The expansion is expected to feature the same kind of challenging Soulslike combat featured in the base game, and fans don’t have to wait long at all to see how it compares.

As announced at Summer Game Fest, the $29.99 Lies of P: Overture DLC is available now. I’m not seeing it on Steam or the PlayStation Store just yet, but the storefronts should be updated shortly, and some fans may have better luck depending on their region. In any case, the DLC coincides with a big update for Lies of P that adds difficulty options and should make the game more accessible, along with a boss rush mode.
Lies of P: Overture is Available Now
The Lies of P: Overture DLC trailer shows protagonist Pinocchio squaring off against some jaw-dropping monstrosities. Pinocchio will have a familiar arsenal to use against the creatures he comes across, along with some new weapons. In the trailer, Pinocchio is seen using a bow as well as Wolverine-like claws. The trailer reaffirms that Lies of P: Overture features the same kind of intense, stylish action that the base game delivered, and so it will be exciting to see what fans think of it. The addition of difficulty options has proven to be a controversial choice in the community, with some fans praising the move as it will give more people the chance to enjoy Lies of P‘s eye-popping game world, while others feel as though it’s “selling out.”
Regardless, Lies of P: Overture isn’t the end of the popular Soulslike’s story. Anyone that has completed the game knows that Lies of P‘s ending sets up a sequel, one that seems like it’s leaving the Pinocchio set-up behind. Lies of P 2 is likely years away from release, so hopefully the Overture DLC is enough to keep fans satisfied until then.
