A Cookie Run: Kingdom player discovered some “cursed” items while out shopping recently. The sixth game in the popular series of mobile gacha games, Devsisters’ Cookie Run: Kingdom was released in 2021 and quickly gained attention from fans of the franchise and newcomers alike. The engaging gameplay loop and setting, anthropomorphic Cookies to collect and upgrade, and other RPG elements proved to be a winning formula.
Each Cookie character in Cookie Run: Kingdom has a unique appearance and abilities, and there are more than 150 Cookies to collect. As with most gacha games, different characters have different rarities and, generally, the higher the rarity, the more powerful the Cookie. These can be found in a range of ways, with the most common being pulling for them from the gacha store, participating in special gacha events, and collecting their Soulstones by playing the game.

As with many popular video games, Devsisters’ gacha RPG has released its share of official merch, and fans were able to get their hands on Cookie Run: Kingdom’s Shadow Milk Cookie plushies in February, for example. Recently, a player happened upon some Cookie Run: Kingdom-themed merch while out shopping, an experience that they shared on Reddit with the caption: “So I just found this… cursed thing in a store.” On a shelf was an array of colored mugs with just the large round blue eyes, icing eyebrows, and red smile of GingerBrave, the main protagonist, painted on them.
Cookie Run: Kingdom Merch Can Be Surprising to Find Unexpectedly
Players encounter GingerBrave when first beginning Cookie Run: Kingdom, and in fact he has been the starting Cookie in all games in the series. Witches have either purposely or accidentally brought cookies to life, and GingerBrave is the first to escape from the oven. As a starter Cookie, he just has a Common rating and doesn’t stay viable for long. He very quickly gets set aside in most players’ rosters for more powerful characters, but GingerBrave nevertheless remains the mascot of the Cookie Run series.
As its name suggests, the game offers more than just collecting Cookies and fighting. A major draw for many players is Cookie Run: Kingdom’s base-building and farming mechanics. The kingdom begins with a castle that can be expanded to unlock features and the ability to construct additional buildings like a quarry, orchard, and ranch, which are then used to churn out various raw materials for crafting. And of course there are buildings for decoration and adding personal touches to the kingdom, one of the aspects of Cookie Run: Kingdom that has led to its unwavering popularity.
