How to Learn Every Alter’s Lesson in The Alters

Each Alter in The Alters has a lesson that they can teach Jan that will unlock new dialogue options throughout the story, but there are lengthy optional quests that must be completed in order to learn them. Time is already scarce enough as is, so you’ll have to plan ahead to fulfill the requests of your crewmates in The Alters.

The Alters: Gifting Guide

In order to keep your alters happy and working in The Alters, you will need to chat with them regularly, feed them well, and can even give them gifts.

Learning lessons from your Alters will also drastically boost their moods since you’ll be completing their personal requests in the meantime. Some of these requests even lead to unique modules for your base, so there are plenty of reasons to check in on your crew and see what they have to say.

How to Learn Every Lesson in The Alters

There are 11 lessons to learn in The Alters, and each of them is listed below:

Assertiveness (Technician)	Build a Rapidium Ark and speak to the Technician.
Pragmatism (Scientist)	Enable crunch hours for two days straight.
Charisma (Worker)	Maintain the base’s radiation filters for five continuous days without any crunch hours.
Chill (Shrink)	Complete the “A Special Kind of Substance” task for the Shrink in Act 2.
Integrity (Doctor)	Choose Implants in Act 2 and bring the rebels back to your base in Act 3. Then, ask the Shrink about the Doctor’s tattoo design.
Optimism (Refiner)	Complete the “Sound Mind and Sound Body” task by building a Gym.
Vulnerability (Miner)	Refuse to give the Miner drugs after the first dose. Then, amputate his arm. Later on, choose the Serum to regrow his arm and assign him to the Contemplation Room for counseling until he recovers.
Shrewdness (Guard)	Install a security system when the Guard asks.
Reliance (Botanist)	Talk to the Botanist about your relationship with Lena during the first two acts. You don’t have to let him talk to Lena in your place, but you should be supportive of his ideas.
Joy of Life (Tabula Rasa)	Create Tabula Rasa in the Womb but choose Implants at the end of Act 2. Then, talk to Tabula Rasa in the base during Act 3.
New Perspective (Jan)	Unlocked automatically during the Interlude before Act 3.

Since you can unlock Alters in any order, their requests can pop up at any time during the story. If you see a speech bubble next to an Alter’s icon, go and see them immediately so you don’t waste any valuable time. You’ll need to harvest extra resources to fulfill every request, so your already busy schedule will get even more crowded if you want to get the most out of The Alters.
