Date Everything is an absolutely enormous game, with more than one hundred characters for players to romance (or befriend, or hate.) However, Sassy Chap Games’ debut title is, in fact, even bigger than it initially seems on the surface. Hidden deep within Date Everything‘s credits is a mini-game called “Date the Devs,” which allows the player to get to know all 33 of the game’s developers – and perhaps even earn a “date” with them. “Date the Devs” is not just a fun mini-game, but a beautiful tribute to the people who made Date Everything a reality.

How to Find and Romance Sassy Chap in Date Everything (Dateable 95)
Sassy Chap is one of the hidden dateable characters in Date Everything. Here’s how to find and romance him in the game.
To Date The Sassy Chap, Players Must Date The Devs
The Sassy Chap, the mascot of Date Everything‘s developer, is one of the hardest Dateables to find in the game. To encounter him, players must pull up the credits via their in-game smartphone and then use the Dateviators while the credits are rolling. This summons the Sassy Chap, a dapper fellow who reveals that the way to his heart is through winning a game show known as “Date the Devs.”
“Date the Devs” is a mini-game in which players can “date” each of the game’s 33 developers by answering one to three questions about them. These questions range from the subject of Robbie Daymond’s thesis to the likes of “Do you like anime?” or “How hard do I rock?” To obtain a “Love” ending with the Sassy Chap, players must score at least 30 points in the game – although, there is an achievement for getting a “Hate” ending with every single developer, encouraging players to give “Date the Devs” multiple tries.
“Date the Devs” might just seem like a fun Easter egg to provide players with another hidden Dateable, but it is so much more. The mini-game is a heartwarming tribute to everyone who made Date Everything possible, as each developer’s contributions are called out and thoroughly and effusively praised by the Sassy Chap.
There’s plenty of humor, too, especially in the form of the Chap himself, who gives a nod to his actor Adam Croasdell’s role as Ignis in Final Fantasy 15 by saying “I’ve come up with a new developer!” before each “date.” Daymond and Ray Chase, who both starred in Final Fantasy 15 alongside Croasdell, also give the Chap plenty of sass about his previous role, and fans of the game will be delighted to see three of its four protagonists hanging out and teasing each other once again.
“Date The Devs” Is Everything A Mini-Game Should Be
It’s unlikely that “Date the Devs” will ever be talked about in the same breath as the likes of Gwent or Triple Triad – and that’s a shame, because it deserves to be. It’s nonstop hilarity from start to finish, from Daymond calling the player a homewrecker for dating him (as he’s a happily married father of two) to Ray Chase calling off his “date” because he’s too sleepy for the epic boss fight he had planned. But, more than that, it lets the player take a break from rushing around their house finding Dateables to appreciate the game development process and the people involved.
Game developers deserve appreciation, and Date Everything understands that. By giving the developers their own mini-game, the game doesn’t just provide 33 additional collectible images for achievement-hunters to track down; it shows that their contributions are valuable and important for players to acknowledge. With “Date the Devs,” Sassy Chap Games has started a trend that future games would be wise to follow, creating a fun mini-game for players to enjoy while also giving the “folks behind the curtain” their moment in the sun to shine.
