Bethesda has revealed some astounding statistics for Fallout Shelter to celebrate the game’s tenth anniversary, revealing the mobile game has been downloaded more than 230 million times. The post-apocalyptic RPG franchise has been one of the developer’s flagship games since the franchise’s inception in 1997, standing right alongside The Elder Scrolls to build up the juggernaut studio. Fallout has seen plenty of opportunities to branch out throughout its storied history, ranging from a successful Amazon Prime series to even its own cookbook. Now, Fallout Shelter is ringing in its tenth anniversary with some major numbers.
Fallout Shelter served as a bold new experiment from Bethesda when the mobile spinoff of the RPG franchise first debuted in 2015. Shelter served as the first game in the franchise to depict what life is like within the Fallout franchise’s iconic Vaults, allowing players to build and maintain their own Vault as its Overseer. The game has also seen multiple ports to different platforms, brought to the Xbox One in 2017 with PS4 and Switch ports coming later in 2018. Fallout Shelter is now celebrating its tenth year and a major downloads milestone.
