InZOI dropped in early access at the end of March 2025. Some believed that it would disrupt the life sim genre, which has been dominated by The Sims series for the past few decades. However, because it’s in early access, InZOI is still missing several key features that are vital for gameplay and overall player experience.
Because of these missing features and mechanics, InZOI‘s player rate dropped at an alarming rate. June 13 was something special for the InZOI community though, as it got its first major update since its early access release. InZOI developer Kjun highlighted some of the new additions in a blog post, while YouTuber zoibean got early access to the update and highlighted the biggest changes. This first update brings more than 200 items to InZOI across Character Studio and Build and Buy mode, along with some essential quality of life improvements and highly anticipated new features.

InZOI’s New Interactions and Features
The June update to InZOI brings several new gameplay features that have the potential to transform InZOI’s gameplay, which some players have noted is too shallow for long-term gaming at the moment. The gameplay updates should make family gameplay deeper, with more variety and better systems to accommodate different Zois.
Most notable of these is the addition of same-sex attracted Zois, who can now enter a romantic relationship with other Zois of the same sex. NPC Zois can be edited to change their attraction preferences. Another update adds Teen Zoi romantic relationships. Teen romantic interactions include having crushes and confessing their love.
Adult Zois now have two more ways to have a baby, and can do so without being married. Zois can either adopt a child of any age, with no limitations on who can adopt. Zois can also have a child through medical help, which allows the player to choose another Zoi with the traits they want and combine their genetics after gaining their consent. After a quick loading screen, a baby is created and appears in a crib in the house.
Another gameplay addition that will make relationships easier to form is the ability to send text messages via a Zoi’s phone first, rather than leaving it up to NPCs to make the first move. Zois will be able to begin text conversations, and even make plans to meet. There are plans in the works to give players the ability to write their Zoi’s text messages, but that will come much later. Players will now see their Zoi’s body shape change through gameplay, such as building muscle with consistent exercise, or gaining fat from overeating.
New InZOI Creator Studio and Gameplay Objects
The June update adds over 200 new objects to InZOI. With over 20 new items in Creator Studio, there’s the opportunity to create Zois with far more variety in style. A big addition is the ability to move accessories, which is essential to avoid accessories clipping with hair, other accessories, or the Zoi’s face or body, and overall gives players more control over the appearance of their Zois. InZOI‘s Build and Buy modes now have over 170 new objects, and includes some quality of life improvements, including better performance, easier placement, and an autosave system.
InZOI‘s new cheat system is fully integrated into the game, and can be accessed through the Psycat Guide in InZOI‘s menu. Not all the planned cheats have been implemented yet, but the ones available include money cheats, teleportation, and freezing Needs so they don’t deteriorate.
Finally, InZOI‘s June update offers integrated modding, so players can download player-made mods using the in-game mod browser. At the moment, only modded objects will be able to be uploaded and downloaded through InZOI‘s official mod integration, but more will be on the way, and it’s a big step forward.
