Nintendo Switch 2 early adopters may be hungry for new experiences, and luckily, at least four exclusives are still on deck for summer 2025. Nintendo Switch 2 launched with five exclusive games, headlined by Mario Kart World, and while many fans are likely still having a blast racing on MKW‘s eye-popping tracks, others may be anxious for new games.
As it stands, Nintendo has yet to reveal much about the Switch 2 lineup for the rest of 2025. In fact, fall 2025 is almost completely barren, minus Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment and Kirby Air Riders, both of which currently lack solid release dates. Fans can also look forward to Switch 2 Editions of Switch 1 games like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokemon Legends: Z-A, though they don’t have any exclusive content. They just run and look better on the Switch 2.

All Major Nintendo Switch 2 Games Coming Out Soon
The Nintendo Switch 2 has only begun to write its story, and these upcoming new games will be major chapters.
Nintendo is rumored to be hosting a Direct presentation at some point in the near future that should shine a light on more upcoming Switch 2 games. In the meantime, summer 2025 has at least four games for fans to look forward to. Donkey Kong Bananza is the big one, launching for the Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17, but fans can also look forward to Switch 2-exclusive content coming to Super Mario Party Jamboree and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Finally, the brand-new IP Drag x Drive, a basketball wheelchair game that utilizes the Joy-Cons’ mouse functionality, is also expected to launch this summer.
Upcoming Switch 2 Exclusives Coming Soon
- Donkey Kong Bananza – July 17
- Super Mario Party Jamboree: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV – July 24
- Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World – August 28
- Drag x Drive – TBA Summer 2025
Super Mario Party Jamboree and Kirby and the Forgotten Land are technically Switch 1 games, but they are getting Switch 2-exclusive content on July 24 and August 28, respectively. The $19.99 upgrade pack for Jamboree improves the game’s visuals and frame rate, plus adds brand-new game modes that utilize the Switch 2’s mouse, microphone, and camera. Kirby and the Forgotten Land‘s $19.99 upgrade pack also features improved performance, along with brand-new abilities and a full-blown story expansion in the form of Star-Crossed World. Kirby and the Forgotten Land was a hit when it was first released, and so the new story content is definitely something Switch 2 owners should be excited about.
Out of all the Switch 2 exclusives coming this summer, Donkey Kong Bananza is the one that stands out as the most exciting. Donkey Kong Bananza is the first 3D platformer the franchise has seen since Donkey Kong 64, and it features a brand-new look for Donkey Kong, an impressive level of destructibility, and serious Super Mario Odyssey vibes. If it lives up to the hype, Donkey Kong Bananza could easily become a must-have for Switch 2 owners.
Not enough is known about Drag X Drive to make a determination, but it’s an interesting concept. The Switch 2 could definitely use more multiplayer games, but whether Drag x Drive successfully fills that void remains to be seen. Hopefully, the Nintendo Direct rumors are true and fans can learn more about it and the other upcoming Switch 2 games soon.
