Borderlands 2 has many amazing side missions for players to undertake. Most will have players going through the motion of accepting a quest, completing said quest, and then turning it in for their reward. However, sometimes there is more to a quest than meets the eye.
Splinter Group is a quest that players are able to obtain by progressing the main story of the game. Many residents of Sanctuary will have new side quests made available by doing so. This includes Tannis, who serves as the quest giver for Splinter Group, and one of Borderlands smartest characters.

Where to Find the Splinter Group Puzzle in Borderlands 2
Players will need to progress through each step of the Splinter Group mission to find the room with the puzzle.
- Pick up Moxxi’s Pizza
- Head to hideout
- Get buzzed in
- Deliver Pizza
- Kill Splinter Group
The Splinter Group and the puzzle room itself can be found in the Bloodshot Stronghold — along with Loader #1340. The Splinter Group consists of 4 NPCs named Dan, Ralph, Mick, and Lee. These NPCs will spawn after completing Deliver Pizza. After killing the Splinter Group, leave through the north exit and follow the path to a room with 2 red chests. Above the chest on the far end will be a row of red lights players will need to turn green.
Solving the Puzzle and Spawning Flinter in Borderlands 2
Green and red lights are very important in Borderlands 2. These colors can help guide players and let them know there is more at play within the room. Normally, a green light means “interact with this” or “this thing can be interacted with.” Players will find 4 important objects with green lights in this room.
As players enter the room with the chests, they will see the above objects. As players enter the room, simply go to the Valve and interact with it once. Go to the TV and interact with it twice. Then, go to the switch and interact with it three times. This will cause all the lights above the second red chest to turn green.
However, this will also spawn another enemy into this room to fight the player. Pulling the switch last is a great tactic, as it lets players keep their eyes on the spawning location of this NPC, letting them back up and start dealing damage the moment his health bar appears.
This NPC is named Flinter, and is a reference to the teacher and father figure of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
