When it comes to presenting a story, Palworld doesn’t exactly do much for its players and instead lets them find out about the world on their own. A narrative throughline does exist in the background, which players can learn about by reading the in-game journals and dialogue they can come across, meaning that there will also be a conclusion. Currently, there is no ending, but one of the updates for Palworld will eventually result in it being given a proper ending scenario, as stated in Pocketpair’s roadmap for the game. However, what that will entail is something that fans can only speculate on for now.
Since Palworld’s release in January 2024, the game has yet to introduce a proper main storyline for players to follow. Again, the game does have a story for players to learn about, but there is no clear ending in sight. Pocketpair will eventually change that, but what kind of conclusion it will be is a mystery, especially with there being no news or hints about what it could be at all. There are many scenarios for what the end could be, and out of those interesting possibilities, there are a few that have a good shot of actually happening.

If there’s one thing Palworld’s Tides of Terraria update will do, it’s raise questions regarding the game’s future crossovers.
What Palworld’s Ending Scenario Could Be
If there’s one thing players should anticipate when it comes to Palworld, it’s that the game’s World Tree will play into the ending. Pocketpair has made it clear via its roadmap that this inaccessible, yet attention-grabbing, monumental piece of nature will play a role in the endgame scenario, but how is still a mystery. However, its incorporation makes it a little easier to predict what the conclusion could be, with a few scenarios being likely:
- Palworld could frame the World Tree as the cause of a catastrophe by making it the reason for the creation of a deadly and world-ending Pal, which the player will have to take on and defeat
- The World Tree could be explained as sustaining life on the planet inhabited by the beings of Palworld, which could then be put in jeopardy by a calamity mentioned in the Paldeck entries of Frostallion and Jetragon
- The World Tree could hold unimaginable power that the enemy factions want to claim in order to fulfill their goals, leading to the player traveling towards and defending it until these hostile factions relent
These are things that could happen, and they would certainly make Palworld more interesting. However, Pocketpair could always go a different route for the ending, and since there’s no way to tell what that may be, people will just have to wait and see what the developer has in store for everyone.
How Palworld’s Potential Ending Scenario Can Be Better Explained
While the roadmap for Palworld states that there will be an ending scenario, the game doesn’t make an effort to point out that players should expect one. While people can speculate on what the end could be, there’s barely anything that builds up towards it. This can be used as an opportunity for Pocketpair to introduce a proper story mode, helping ensure that fans better understand and appreciate the planned conclusion. The addition of a proper narrative can also provide more meaning to the factions and dungeons, as it can turn them into important plot points that can better flesh out the narrative and make them more than just combat zones.
Palworld is going to cross an item off players’ wish lists by finally giving them an ending scenario, and it will be exciting to see Pocketpair’s plan regarding it. Whether the end result something people expect or not, there’s no doubt that the developer will put its all into this crucial piece of content.
