Just hours after landing on PC, Stellar Blade surpassed expectations as it reached over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam. Stellar Blade originally launched in 2024 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive and did well early on, selling more than a million copies within two months. Developer Shift Up teased a PC version not long after and later confirmed June 11 as the version’s highly anticipated release date.
On May 30, Shift Up rolled out a free Stellar Blade PC demo in close to 250 regions, and despite already being out on PS5 for over a year, it quickly caught attention. Within the first few hours, the demo reached a peak of 26,443 concurrent players on Steam. It ran smoothly across various setups, including handheld devices like the Steam Deck, and maintained a steady reputation with around 92 percent positive reviews. The demo gave players a preview of the opening level, the first boss fight, and a bit of character customization.

The full Stellar Blade PC launch didn’t just live up to the demo’s momentum; it completely outpaced it. In just 24 hours, Stellar Blade reached 164,650 concurrent players on Steam according to SteamDB. This made it only the second PlayStation-published game to cross the 100K mark on the platform. The only other one that managed to do it was Helldivers 2, which came out in early 2024 and grew into a massive hit, eventually peaking at over 458,000 concurrent players.

With momentum continuing to build, the player base will likely keep growing in the coming weeks.
