Build a Rocket Boy’s upcoming title, MindsEye, has confirmed a surprising Hitman collaboration, adding Agent 47 to the game. Considering both MindsEye and Hitman are published by IO Interactive, it’s a collaboration that actually makes a ton of sense.

MindsEye is the first post-Grand Theft Auto title from former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies. His name attached to the intriguing project as game director has undoubtedly helped to build hype for the game, which launches on June 10. In the lead-up to its release, Build a Rocket Boy has slowly been detailing various aspects of MindsEye‘s development, giving players a look into what they can expect when they hop into the action.

MindsEye CEO Believes Negative Reaction is a Paid Effort Against the Studio

Build a Rocket Boy’s co-CEO suggests the negative reaction to its upcoming title, MindsEye, is because people are being paid to ‘trash the game.’

A new launch trailer for MindsEye shown during Summer Game Fest featured a surprising conclusion. The final seconds showed Hitman‘s Agent 47 entering the frame, confirming a collaboration between the two. According to Build a Rocket Boy, “Agent 47 will feature as a playable character in a post-launch mission designed by the team,” with a release set for July this year. While the collaboration may seem a little random on the surface, the fact that both MindsEye and Hitman share the same publisher makes it easy to see why this choice has been made to help promote the new IP.

Mindseye Official Launch Trailer Confirms Hitman Collaboration

Perhaps more impressively, the collaboration mission has been created with Build A Rocket Boy’s proprietary Game Creation System, which, according to the developer, are the same tools that players will be able to use to “build custom games, new stories, and entirely original experiences” in MindsEye.

The Hitman collaboration is just the start for MindsEye. The developer has confirmed that this is just “the first collaboration announced, and part of the long-term content roadmap already planned following MindsEye’s launch.” The game is described as “an ever-expanding player experience, with new studio-created premium content delivered monthly, thanks to the power of BARB’s Game Creation System.” It certainly sounds as though MindsEye fans will have plenty to look forward to.
