Pokemon GO‘s GO Pass feature allows its players to complete timed tasks and rank up to unlock rewards. There’s a Basic and a Deluxe category, and as you’d expect, the Deluxe rewards can only be obtained if you have GO‘s Deluxe Pass. Although this pay-to-play feature exists in every GO Pass Event, free-to-play users won’t need to pay real money to get rewards from the Basic category. However, the rewards may or may not be worth the cost depending on what the GO Pass event is offering. You should always check the rewards list before making your decision.

How Do You Earn Points for GO Pass?
Deluxe Pass Cost
GO Pass is a new feature for Pokemon GO Fest (2025). You collect points to raise your rank and obtain rewards. You can get up to 1000 GO Points per day during the event. In some cases, you’ll also have Pass Tasks, which are another way of farming Pass Points.
Earn points from these tasks:
- Hatch an Egg (250 PTS)
- WIn a Raid (100 PTS)
- Catch a Pokemon (5 PTS)
You can purchase the Deluxe Pass by tapping View Rewards, then Upgrade on the GO Pass event under the EVENTS tab. For June 2025, there are currently two GO Passes, which means different prices depending on the event.
GO Pass Deluxe: June |
GO Pass Deluxe: Ancients Recovered |
|
---|---|---|
Option 1 |
$7.99 |
$19.99 |
Option 2* |
$9.99 |
$24.99 |
* The second option for the GO Pass will unlock the rewards in the Deluxe column as well as increase your rank by 10 upon purchase.
As mentioned, GO Pass Deluxe should only be purchased if you want exclusive avatar items, raid-focused bonuses, and special Pass items that you won’t be able to obtain anywhere else. For Ancients Recovered (June 2025), players that reach Rank 100 with the Deluxe Pass will obtain a Gold Bottle Cap.
As most Pokemon fans know, Gold Bottle Caps are used in the mainline Pokemon games to raise all the IVs of your Pokemon through Hyper Training. The function of the Gold Bottle Cap is the same in GO, raising all of a Pokemon’s stats (HP, Attack, Defense). However, there are some limitations to Hyper Training in Pokemon GO:
- Your Pokemon must be Good Buddy or higher.
- Perfect/4-star Pokemon cannot be Hyper Trained.
- Pokemon in Hyper Training can only train for a maximum of 1 year.
In contrast, the GO Pass: June has a Lucky Trinket as the Rank 100 reward. This is an item that allows you to instantly become Lucky Friends with one other person in your Friends list.
So, if you want to Hyper Train your Pokemon and raise their stats or elevate a friend’s rank to Lucky, you should get the GO Pass Deluxe. Remember that GO Pass Deluxe also includes special encounters, too. Therefore, if you want to avoid the trouble of fighting in Raids to get rare and/or Legendary Pokemon, it may be easier for you to purchase the Deluxe Pass.
GO Pass Rewards (Ancients Recovered, June 2025)
Basic vs. Deluxe
As of June 2025, there are two active GO Pass events:
- GO Pass: June (June 3rd – July 1st)
- GO Pass: Ancients Recovered (June 23rd – June 29th)
You can view both reward columns by checking under your EVENTS tab in GO. Notice how, after Rank 100, all your rewards for both passes will be x50 Stardust and x100 Stardust for the Basic and Deluxe exclusive.
If you have the Deluxe Pass, you’ll get rewards from both Basic and Deluxe.
For an example of Basic and Deluxe Pass differences, here’s the rewards for the Ancients Recovered event, running from June 23rd (10:00am) to June 29th (6:00pm):
