Grow a Garden: Best Pets Tier List
Grow a Garden has added many adorable pets that give your crops some great perks; here’s the list of the most to least valuable ones.
Updated on June 22, 2025, by Somiya Adrees: With each Grow a Garden update, new critters join the ever-growing pet lineup. This guide has been updated to include all pets added up to the 1.11.0 update. New sections have also been added, covering how to collect pets and improve their performance.
How to Get Pets in Grow a Garden
Players can collect up to 67 adorable pets in the game, though only 60 of them can be stored at a time, and just a few can be actively used on the farm. The main way to get pets in Grow a Garden is by opening Pet Eggs, which are available through Raphael’s Stall or special event shops.
If you’re new, Raphael’s Stall (called Pet Eggs) is located near the Cosmetics and Gear Shop. There, you can purchase six types of eggs, each hatching pets of different rarities. Just keep in mind that only three random types are stocked at any given time. Here’s what you might find:

While these eggs can be obtained anytime, event-exclusive eggs like the Bee Egg, Night Egg, and Anti-Bee Egg only show up during events. You can grab them from event shops or sometimes in the Game Shop. Once you get an egg, just place it in your garden and wait for it to hatch. If you’re in a hurry, you can either use Robux to speed it up or use pets that help hatch eggs faster.
Remember, the devs often give out free new pets, like the Chicken Zombie or Cooked Owl, to players who attend the live launch of the latest updates, so try not to miss them.

How to Get More Pet and Egg Equip Slots in Roblox Grow a Garden
Here’s how to get more Pet and Egg equip slots in Roblox’s Grow a Garden following the Animal Update.
Can You Improve Pet Traits in Grow a Garden?
Yes! You can absolutely boost your pet’s abilities in Grow a Garden by aging them up. The more they grow, the better they perform. For example, they’ll be able to use their traits more often, have a higher likelihood of giving variants or seeds, and even duplicate fruits more successfully. So even critters like the Red Fox can become more powerful over time.
To age your pets faster, make sure they’re well-fed and earning EXP by roaming freely or with the help of EXP-boosting animals. The best part is, just like crops, pets grow while you’re offline. You just need to watch their hunger bar, which goes down every 12 hours.
Leveling up pets is especially helpful for critters like Praying Mantis and Pigs (for top-tier mutations like Rainbow, Shocked, and Gold) and even for animals, like Raccoons and Red Fox, who help get your free fruits.
Do Pet Abilities Stack in Grow a Garden?
Based on Grow a Garden’s official Discord, pet abilities do stack. This means you can get more from their combined traits. For instance, a Polar Bear only gives a small chance for Chilled or Frozen fruits to spawn on your farm, but having more of these critters can raise your mutation odds. Also, since the Silver Monkey has trouble refunding unique plants, you can leave many of those on your plot if you want to keep your valuable crops even after selling them.
This stacking works for animals with similar traits, too. Having an Owl, Night Owl, and Blood Owl together can give your active pets’ experience points a nice boost. To get the most out of this, try unlocking more pet slots (there are up to eight) and add critters that meet your goals.
