June 26 Is Going to Be a Big Day for Arc System Works Fans

Arc System Works is holding a summer showcase event where it plans to make a number of announcements, including a sneak peek at the future of Guilty Gear. The studio is well known for its fighting games, particularly the Guilty Gear franchise, but Arc System Works has certainly had no shortage of titles recently, from Dragon Ball FighterZ, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, DNF Duel, and even serving as publisher for a number of indies.

It’s been a big couple of weeks for the developers at Arc System Works, with the studio having recently come off of a massive new announcement. Tokon Fighting Souls was announced at Summer Game Fest, revealing a new tag fighting game in collaboration between Arc, Sony, and Marvel. The announcement came as a massive surprise, as most fans likely believed Marvel was likely going to pair with Capcom once again following all the momentum behind the recent game collection release. Either way, Arc System Works has new plans that fans will likely want to tune in for.

Despite the chances of a new Marvel vs. Capcom looking slim, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls carries on its spirit even without the Capcom half.

Alongside the recently announced Capcom Spotlight showcase, Arc System Works is also planning to hold its own event later in the day on June 26. For fans of Guilty Gear’s Ishiwatari Taisuke, the developer will also be showing off his brand-new project for the first time.

Fan speculation for the event is already well underway with many calling for sequels to established franchises like Dragon Ball FighterZ or even a new BlazBlue fighting game. Naturally, there are many wondering if Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls will make another appearance. As a 4v4 tag fighter, fans expect Marvel Tokon to have a massive character roster, with currently only 8 being confirmed for the eventual 2026 launch. However, as a collaboration with Marvel and Sony, Arc may opt to wait for bigger upcoming events to highlight news on the highly anticipated game.

In terms of Guilty Gear Strive, it’s entirely possible that the company could reveal the final character of Season Pass 4, even though Unika launched at the end of May. The final character for this current Season Pass is none other than Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners, so there are plenty of questions from players regarding how she’ll look and play in-game. Lucy represents the first guest character for the Guilty Gear franchise, so if it goes well, perhaps Arc System Works will be more open to future collaborations.
