Diablo 4 fans should circle June 27 in their calendars, after Blizzard confirmed that it’s hosting a Season 9 Developer Update Livestream on this date. The livestream will give players a closer look at what can be expected from Diablo 4‘s Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim.
Diablo 4‘s Season 8 received a mixed reception from players, to say the least. Blizzard aimed to increase the grind in the game by slowing progression, although it went too far for some players. Some felt that anything outside of meta builds had become unusable, and the grind simply wasn’t as fun this time around. Blizzard addressed many of Diablo 4 Season 8’s biggest problems via patches, but it’s fair to suggest that most players would have preferred it to launch in a better place from the outset.

One of Diablo 4’s rarest enemies still eludes players several months after its debut, and the chances of it spawning are astronomically low.
In a post on the Blizzard website, the developer confirmed that a Diablo 4 Developer Update Livestream is going to be held on June 27 at 11 AM PDT, offering a large preview of what’s to come in Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim with various members of the development team. Fans who tune in with a linked Battle.net and Twitch account will be eligible to receive a Diablo 4 Season 9 Twitch Drop: Lacuni’s Pupil 2-handed Sorcerer Staff.
Diablo 4 Season 9 Livestream To Be Held on June 27
The livestream itself will offer a look at the “new questline coming with the Season, Horadric Spellcraft, Escalating Nightmares, and more.” This will then be followed by a Q&A session with the developers, which allows players a direct line to ask their burning questions to the team. Perhaps most interesting of all are the Escalating Nightmares, which were confirmed to be new endgame content for Diablo 4 Season 9 last month. Hopefully, players will be able to see the Escalating Nightmares in action to get a better idea of how they’re going to work in practice.
Even beyond Season 9, there’s plenty for Diablo 4 fans to be excited about. Rumors continue to swirl about the possibility of a Nintendo Switch 2 port for the game, which would open it up to a brand-new audience. There’s also Diablo 4‘s second expansion, which was confirmed to have slipped into 2026 earlier this year. While it’s sad that players won’t get to see it this year, it’s better late than never.
