The PlayStation Plus games for July will shortly be unveiled in the coming week. PlayStation Plus actually saw an influx of a greater than normal number of titles for June. Just ahead of this year’s Summer Game Fest, Sony held its State of Play showcase, and the studio has surprised subscribers since with a bunch of bonus selections, including Grand Theft Auto 3: Definitive Edition and Destiny 2: The Final Shape. With the next batch of games soon to be announced, there are a few that would be great potentail fits for July’s offering.

Two latest additions to one tier of PS Plus are closely related and highly-regarded classic titles in a genre that has been a bit overlooked since.
PS Plus July 2025 Wishlist: Resident Evil Village
Read Game Rant’s Review of Resident Evil Village
One of the biggest announcements from SGF was Resident Evil Requiem. Sony has a longstanding association with Capcom, and with Resident Evil 7 previously being on PS Plus, giving fans a chance to play its well-received sequel and latest series entry ahead of Requiem (set to release February 26, 2026) would align well with it coming to the service.
In celebration of its Days of Play promotion, Sony announced at State of Play that the PS1 versions of Resident Evil 2 and RE3 will be hitting the service as part of the Premium classics catalog sometime later this summer.
PS Plus July 2025 Wishlist: Atomic Heart
Read Game Rant’s Review of Atomic Heart
Similar to RE Village, Atomic Heart hitting PS Plus would also be timely. Developer Mundfish Studios revealed at SGF both a forthcoming follow-up to the 2023 original alongside an ambitious new game, The Cube, an MMO shooter spin-off based on Atomic Heart‘s world. While it was thought to be a little under-baked, Atomic Heart received a couple of later DLCs that helped flesh out its experience and it could use another look.
PS Plus July 2025 Wishlist: Pacific Drive
One of last year’s most interesting but often overlooked games, Pacific Drive sends players on a survival roguelike road trip through an Exclusion Zone-like region of the American Pacific Northwest. With a compelling story and world rounded out by quirky characters and enthralling gameplay loops, Pacific Drive is an enjoyable detour through a mix of genres. It’s also gotten a number of updates since its launch in February 2024, and features more robust options and modes.

Entries in Related Upcoming Popular Series and Other Overlooked Games
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora– Ubisoft’s adaptation of James Cameron’s popular sci-fi franchise didn’t quite reach the heights of its other IPs like Far Cry, but Frontiers is still a visually impressive romp and story set in the universe.
- Metal Gear Solid Collection– With Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, releasing on August 28, the MGS collection hitting PS+ would be a fantastic lead-in.
- Final Fantasy 16- After Square Enix announced FF16 is coming to Xbox, its inclusion on PS Plus seems more like a case of when, and not if.
- Rise of the Ronin– A bit like Pacific Drive, Team Ninja’s Soulslike samurai action entry flew a little under the radar. It was a solid experience, though, and beat Assassin’s Creed Shadows to the punch in a long-request setting.
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage– Speaking of AC Shadows, its preceding entry, Mirage, was comparatively smaller in scope and took the series back to its more stealth-action roots. Like Rise of the Ronin, it could also be a good choice.
- Neon White– A bit of a sleeper hit in 2022 that was praised for its take on fast-paced FPS action built around deck-building-like roguelike elements, Neon White would be a wonderful inclusion this month.
- Lies of P– With the Overture DLC now out, and the base game being a day one Game Pass title upon its release in 2023, now would be a perfect time to bring one of the most popular Soulslikes to PS Plus.
While July may not hold the increased number of PS Plus additions that June did, any of the above games being picked for the next crop would make excellent fits for the onset of summer and ahead of some of the notable major upcoming releases set to drop shortly later.
