Summary
- PS Plus Extra subscribers can now play Destiny 2: Legacy Collection.
- The collection includes major expansions and dungeons, providing hours of content.
- Upcoming PS Plus updates will bring games like Myst and Grand Theft Auto 3: The Definitive Edition.
PlayStation Plus subscribers who are signed up for the Extra tier or higher can now play Destiny 2: Legacy Collection with their subscription. The Extra tier of PlayStation Plus has been plenty busy lately, with Sony releasing bonus games for subscribers to check out as part of the ongoing Days of Play promotion.
The bonus PS Plus Extra games kicked off with the addition of Another Crab’s Treasure. Another Crab’s Treasure is a quirky Soulslike where players explore an ocean filled with dangerous bosses. It was followed by Ubisoft’s controversial open world pirate game Skull and Bones. Skull and Bones earned mixed reviews at the time of its release and was criticized for its microtransactions and live-service elements, but now PS Plus Extra subscribers can try it out without paying anything beyond what they already do for their subscription.

PS Plus Update Adds Divisive Open World Game From 2024
The latest update to the PlayStation Plus subscription service adds a divisive open world game that was first released in 2024.
The latest PS Plus update has given Extra and Premium tier subscribers yet another game to play in the form of Destiny 2: Legacy Collection. Destiny 2: Legacy Collection combines the base game with some of its major expansions, giving players a ton of content to enjoy. In fact, Destiny 2: Legacy Collection gives PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers the chance to experience the bulk of the available Destiny 2 content, especially when paired with one of the latest free PS Plus Essential games.
What Comes in Destiny 2: Legacy Collection?
- Lightfall Standard Edition
- The Witch Queen Standard Edition
- Beyond Light Pack
- Shadowkeep Pack
- Forsaken Pack
- 30th Anniversary Pack
- Pit of Heresy Dungeon
- Shattered Throne Dungeon
- Grasp of Avarice Dungeon
The free PS Plus Essential games are available to subscribers across all tiers, with Destiny 2: The Final Shapes given away as a bonus free PS Plus game for Days of Play. All together, the sheer amount of Destiny 2 content now available to PS Plus Extra subscribers has the potential to keep them busy for hundreds of hours, especially for those that get really into raiding and taking on the game’s PvP content.
But even though the Destiny 2 freebies are enough to keep subscribers busy for quite some time, there is even more to look forward to in the near future. Myst and Riven are coming to PS Plus Premium on June 5, while Grand Theft Auto 3: The Definitive Edition is being added to the Extra tier on June 10. PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can also expect the usual monthly update, which will likely come on June 17. We don’t know all the new games coming to PS Plus that day, but we do know that FBC: Firebreak will be added as a day one release.
