As of June 6, NetEase Games launched a fresh game mode in Marvel Rivals called Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol. The new mode gives players the opportunity to choose a full team of heroes and face off against various foes in tactical grid-based scenarios.

Some players have been lamenting the state of Vanguards in Marvel Rivals following its major 2.5 update. The source of frustration seems to come from the growing number of flying heroes alongside the lack of Vanguards with ranged abilities. The recent addition of Ultron means the popular hero shooter’s ever-expanding roster now has four flying characters, with one now being a Strategist. When combined with powerful team-ups among these flying heroes, some people feel that teams made up of flying characters could be a new meta. This has led some people to believe that playing a melee-focused Vanguard is almost unviable.

They acknowledged that the costume contains some differences from the original design presented in the comics, but that they were confused as to why it was an issue. The fresh costume made its debut on June 5 for 1,600 Units and, while a lot of fans have expressed enthusiasm about the hero’s appearance, some gamers are disappointed with the way NetEase Games designed the outfit.

A couple of people in the comments posted pictures of the original Weapon X artwork in the comics, which show Wolverine wearing small shorts or quite possibly nothing at all. While some fans said this would be impractical for Wolverine in Marvel Rivals, others pointed out that heroes like Invisible Woman have outfits where they are scantily clad.
