WWE 2K25’s next celebrity guest DLC character is none other than NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, who has plenty of experience in both wrestling and gaming. There are five post-launch DLC packs planned for WWE 2K25, with the first one having already launched back in May. This was the New Wave Pack, centered around rising stars Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer. There was also a special guest character planned, but this has been postponed for the foreseeable future.
The next WWE 2K25 DLC character pack will be released on June 25, and it will see the worlds of professional wrestling and basketball collide. Dubbed the “Dunk and Destruction Pack,” it includes the towering Great Khali, the hardcore TNA legend Abyss, and three NBA stars who have previously appeared on WWE programming. The first two of these mystery guests were revealed to be New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson and Indiana Pacers player Tyrese Haliburton, and now gamers know who the third will be.

WWE 2K25’s voiced dialogue misidentifies a former WWE Superstar as a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, raising questions from fans.
In a new post on the official WWE 2K25 Twitter account, developer Visual Concepts revealed that the iconic Shaquille O’Neal will be added to the game as part of the Dunk and Destruction Pack on June 25. Shaq’s entrance animation can also be seen, in which he walks down to the ring and calls out to the crowd as sparklers erupt behind him. Oddly enough, he doesn’t enter to one of his own songs, but rather a generic track.

While many fans would have preferred that this latest WWE 2K25 DLC pack focused on actual wrestlers rather than celebrity guests, Shaquille O’Neal does have plenty of history with professional wrestling in both WWE and its rival promotion AEW. While WWE 2K25 marks his first appearance in a WWE game, Shaq has also been featured in numerous basketball games as well as the infamous Shaq Fu and its 2018 sequel Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn.
Now WWE fans will be able to enter the squared circle as Shaq himself when the Dunk and Destruction Pack launches next week. This means that players will be able to give the basketball legend a rematch with previous rivals like former WWE Champion Cody Rhodes or let him team up with Jade Cargill once again in WWE 2K25 – or even have dream matches with his fellow NBA stars Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Haliburton, who are also included in the upcoming DLC pack.
