The amount of attention surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6 is unsurprising given the immense anticipation for the project, with the 12-year wait for the title hopefully soon coming to an end with its revised 2026 release date. With the two record-breaking trailers for the game showcasing both of the project’s protagonists, fans already have a good idea of what to expect from GTA 6, although there is always a thirst for more.
There is so much about Grand Theft Auto 6‘s plans that remains unknown, with specific interest being shown to the game’s wider locations, online offerings, and core narrative. Recent reports supposedly shed light on some of the scrapped main storylines for GTA 6, with one in particular detailing a classic story of revenge. While this might seem quite uninspired at face value, many elements of this rumored storyline could be the perfect way to supplement the story of Lucia Caminos, one of the game’s main characters.

GTA 6’s Revenge Story Rumors Could Be Echoed in Lucia’s Already-Established Family Ties
One Rumored GTA 6 Storyline Fits Lucia Extremely Well
Reports of some early storyline concepts for Grand Theft Auto 6 recently surfaced thanks to a report on Medium, giving some supposed insight into the initially planned narrative threads of the game. These alleged storylines vary quite differently from each other, with some involving as many as three protagonists, each with different motivations and backgrounds. One of these reportedly scrapped narratives saw the player assume control of a rogue Vice City cop looking to avenge the murder of her mother, with this potentially being salvageable for the story of Lucia.
There is nothing to confirm that these reported storylines are more than rumors, or if any of these original narratives held any bearing on the final product of GTA 6‘s story. Of all these reported narratives, though, it is worth noting that the cop revenge plot is the only one centered around a female protagonist. This is not the only way that this supposed narrative lines up with the final product of Lucia’s story in GTA 6, with mention already being given to the importance of Lucia’s family and upbringing within the game.
An official character profile that was released in tandem with the second trailer, diving deeper into the backgrounds for GTA 6 characters, with Lucia’s being one of the most intriguing. This brief profile revealed that Lucia owes her roots and upbringing to Liberty City, the fan-favorite major location of past games like Grand Theft Auto 4. Specifically, Lucia is mentioned as having gone to prison for “fighting for her family,” while also dreaming of achieving the life that her mother always wanted.
A series of official location deep-dives was released on the official GTA 6 website alongside these character profiles, outlining the varied regions within and around Vice City that players will be able to explore.
GTA 6’s Revenge Story Rumors Could Be Echoed in Lucia’s Already-Established Family Ties
While Lucia’s mother is not spoken of beyond this, it seems a real possibility that a desire for vengeance tied to her mother could be a major motivator for Lucia throughout Grand Theft Auto 6. It is already confirmed that Lucia has gone to prison for a similar purpose, and her immediate plunge back into criminality could be directly tied to this unfinished business.
Vengeance is quite a tired trope across Rockstar games in particular, but the gameplay benefits that this storyline could offer in terms of potentially revisiting Liberty City speak for themselves.
Other elements of this alleged cop vengeance storyline have been heavily rumored to appear in Grand Theft Auto 6, such as the theory that Jason is an undercover police officer throughout the game. Of course, none of these rumors or alleged scrapped narratives are confirmed, and players still have some time before finally diving into GTA 6 and experiencing everything for themselves. Despite this lack of validity, there are a lot of great individual elements of this supposedly scrapped storyline that line up very well with Lucia, and a family-tied motivation seems like the perfect match for the upcoming protagonist.
