Final Fantasy 14 will not be playable for most of June 16, as Square Enix stated that the game’s servers will be down for 14 hours of maintenance starting at 4:00 PM Eastern. The company announced that the pending downtime for Final Fantasy 14 is due to both a hotfix update and some infrastructure maintenance that will be conducted on a specific data center.
This news comes weeks after Final Fantasy 14 launched Patch 7.25, which introduced content like the Occult Crescent field operation and the next chapter of the Hildibrand quest chain. The update also made some Job balance updates that focused on improving the area-of-effect (AOE) damage of underperforming Jobs. Patch 7.25 also had some glaring issues with armor textures, as Hrothgar players pointed out that certain hats and headgear did not sit correctly on their character when paired with specific hairstyles, resulting in some hats floating in midair. It remains to be seen if Square Enix will address it in the upcoming hotfix.

The maintenance is not the only major thing happening in Final Fantasy 14 in June. Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida will reveal Patch 7.3’s name and release window, and give players an idea of what to expect in Dawntrail‘s climactic patch.
