New Minecraft Update Isn’t a Hit With All Players

Some players are concerned that Minecraft’s Vibrant Visuals update may be a double-edged sword, as it could impact the title’s performance. While the overall reception of Vibrant Visuals has been positive ahead of its release, some Minecraft players have genuine concerns, as the popular sandbox game is known to run well even on old computers, and enhanced graphics could potentially cause issues.

Minecraft is an incredibly popular game, selling over 350 million copies since its release. To keep its user base of over 170 million monthly active gamers engaged, developer Mojang launches frequent updates for Minecraft, but it seems that some gamers are not entirely happy with the next one, and it’s not even out yet.

A Minecraft Movie set the stage for a new main character to take center stage, and it could be the key to a sequel’s success.

Now, some gamers are worried about Minecraft’s upcoming Vibrant Visuals update, which is set to be released on June 17. As shown in a previous video shared by Mojang, the update will rework the game’s lighting system, shadows, fog, and more, creating a better atmosphere for Minecraft’s blocky graphics. However, some gamers, such as Rlrankdle on Reddit, are voicing their concerns, saying that while the visuals look good, there “may be a huge drop in FPS,” citing their experiences with the update’s preview. The sentiment was echoed by some other gamers in the comments, with many stating that using torches in the preview, for example, made the game experience noticeable FPS drops.

Not All Minecraft Fans Are Pleased With the Vibrant Visuals Update

These are understandable concerns, especially when considering that Minecraft is one of the best PC games with low specs, so many gamers probably play it using old devices, which may not handle the changes very well. Fortunately, the updated visuals can be turned on and off, so gamers who potentially face FPS drops will be able to return to the original settings.

Vibrant Visuals is only part of the upcoming Chase the Skies update, which will introduce other features to Minecraft, too. This will be the second Minecraft update this year, and it’s expected to be more significant than the first. The update will introduce the Happy Ghast mob, a player locator bar, updated leads, craftable saddles, and more. These are all exciting new elements, and the most game-changing ones, such as the locator bar, for example, can also be toggled on and off. Unfortunately, while Chase the Skies will be available for both the Bedrock and Java editions of Minecraft, Vibrant Visuals will only be playable in the Bedrock edition.
