An Elden Ring Nightreign player has provided a deep dive into the faces hiding beneath Nightfarers’ armor, and the discoveries lying under the surface make a fascinating watch for soulslike fans. Elden Ring Nightreign was released back in May 2025, serving as a spin-off to FromSoftware’s hit 2022 title, flaunting roguelike action. Players can band together with two other friends to tackle the game’s bosses in a procedurally generated variant of Elden Ring’s Limgrave, called Limveld.
Elden Ring Nightreign released a new update for June 2025 recently, with patch 1.01.2 bringing several fixes to the game, including remedying an issue with the Guardian’s remembrance questline and other fixes to Nightlords and weapons. Despite being a substantial update that renders gameplay more seamless, the Elden Ring community is keeping their fingers crossed for a duos mode to be deployed in a future patch, instead of being restricted to solo play or groups of three.

One Fan-Favorite FromSoftware Playstyle Is Conspicuously Absent in Elden Ring Nightreign
With Nightreign making so many attempts to call back to previous games, there’s one fan-favorite playstyle that is mysteriously absent.
Posted on YouTube by Zullie the Witch, the content creator altered the Nightfarers’ skins to share a peek behind the masks and reveal their faces. Nightfarers are the playable characters in Nightreign, boasting their own skills, but most of their faces are shrouded in shadow during gameplay. Executor, who wears a bronze helmet, has copper eyes, which the YouTuber noted was an effect from embracing the Crucible in the Lands Between. Similar to Ranni in Elden Ring, the Revenant’s cracked, porcelain skin reveals a phantasm beneath when her Immortal March is active. Additionally, Elden Ring Nightreign’s Ironeye could be its most controversial character, but rocks blue-tinted eyes similar to those found in Dune after being exposed to spice.
Elden Ring Nightreign Player Reveals Nightfarers’ Faces
Each Elden Ring Nightreign player has their preferred Nightfarer for solo play, and fans were intrigued to see under the veil of each character. One comment addressed how “goofy” the Duchess looked without a mask, and another noted that each Nightfarer is unique enough to become a protagonist in their own separate game, thanks to their distinct mechanics and visual style.
Even though the game has only been on the market for less than a month, Elden Ring Nightreign fans have already made their Nightfarer DLC wish list. One addition some players would like to see in a potential expansion is a magic-user that’s more experimental than Recluse. Another popular request is a Bloodborne-like Hunter, complete with a handgun that would offer an original take on the Duchess.
