Elden Ring Nightreign Video Compares the Game’s Dark Souls Skins to the Originals


A new video about Elden Ring Nightreign is comparing the lineup of Dark Souls-inspired skins featured in the newly released game to the original Dark Souls outfits. The spinoff of the critically-acclaimed Elden Ring took the world by storm following its release at the end of May, quickly seeing similar praise and excitement to the original. Elden Ring Nightreign smashed through the two million units sold milestone within less than a day of its release, topping the charts across multiple online storefronts. Now, one particular aspect of Nightreign is seeing plenty of praise.

Among the many different skins available for players to acquire within Nightreign, the Elden Ring spinoff features multiple callbacks to FromSoftware’s most well-known series. Nightreign offers players the chance to pick up several in-game skins inspired by different outfits from the Dark Souls games, available to purchase after beating four different Nightlords and Heolstor the Nightlord. The skins feature a plethora of outfits from throughout the Dark Souls franchise, including iconic looks like Solaire of Astora’s Armor. A new video is now comparing the Nightreign skins to their original appearances.

Elden Ring Nightreign Adding Highly Requested Game Mode

After announcing a major sales milestone, Elden Ring Nightreign also confirms plans for future content including one highly requested mode.

As reported by PCGamer, Elden Ring content creator BonfireVN recently shared a video showing off comparisons between the Elden Ring skins and Dark Souls outfits. The video goes into detail showing each Dark Souls skin within Elden Ring Nightreign, often comparing the appearances of the outfits across multiple Dark Souls games. Many of the new skins feature improvements from their original versions, including more detailed textures and models alongside new equipment closely resembling the original version. As pointed out in the video’s comments, the Nightreign armor is also the first time players can wear the Emerald Herald’s outfit.

Elden Ring Nightreign‘s impressive new outfits are far from the only way the Elden Ring spinoff calls back to the studio’s roots. Nightreign features six different bosses returning from the Dark Souls franchise that players can challenge within the game, including beloved enemies like the Gaping Dragon and the Nameless King. FromSoftware crossover content has been a particularly popular request for Elden Ring Nightreign DLC, with fans asking for everything from classic bosses to skins based on other games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Bloodborne.

Elden Ring Nightreign‘s success has led to plenty of discussion about what’s next for the latest entry in FromSoftware’s newest franchise.
