What Could Second 2025 Content Roadmap Include?

It’s that time of year when Disney Dreamlight Valley announces yet another lineup of base game updates. The hit simulation game frequently updates players on its plans for upcoming updates and DLC, even going so far as to list out, or at least strongly hint, at plans up to six months into the future. The most obvious example of this is its base game roadmaps, which are typically released biannually. Disney Dreamlight Valley’s previous base game roadmap hinted at Aladdin and Jasmine joining its character roster, an Alice in Wonderland-themed update, and a Peter Pan-themed update. Players were quick to catch these references in this roadmap, with all of these predictions coming to fruition.

Slated to release on June 18, Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Mysteries of Skull Rock update will introduce Peter Pan to its character roster. But in its press release for the upcoming update, Disney Dreamlight Valley also released its second base game roadmap for 2025. The game will see three more base game updates in 2025, in the summer, autumn, and winter, per the roadmap.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Expanding Its Roster May Not Be the Best Path Forward

Disney Dreamlight Valley has over forty characters in its base game. Perhaps it’s time for older Villagers to return to the spotlight.

Inside Out is Headed to Disney Dreamlight Valley this Summer

Like Disney Dreamlight Valley’s previous base game roadmap, three updates have been announced for the hit simulation game, which means three new sets of characters. The first image of the roadmap features bright colors and funky furniture, with oranges, blues, and greens popping off the page. Accompanied by the quote “Get in touch with your emotions,” the base game’s Summer 2025 update hints at Inside Out finally joining Disney Dreamlight Valley. Though plenty of furniture, clothing, and motifs inspired by Inside Out are part of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s catalogue, characters from the hit Pixar franchise have yet to be added to the game’s roster.

Players can definitely bet on Inside Out for the Summer 2025 update with no remorse, but predicting the update’s characters may not be so cut-and-dry. The most obvious characters to bet on would be Joy and Sadness, the dual protagonists of the first Inside Out film. However, with the film’s sequel raking in millions at the box office last year, Anxiety would also be a possible character addition. As mentioned, Inside Out-inspired items are already present in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but the game can add bigger items inspired by the film through this update. An orange couch is featured in the image, which could be a fun Inside Out-themed centerpiece.

Additionally, with Mysteries of Skull Rock planned for mid-June and the second half of the Storybook Vale Expansion Pass slated for July 9, the Inside Out update will likely occur in August. Disney Dreamlight Valley typically gives at least two months for each base game update, and adding the Inside Out update in August would fit this pattern.

Lumiere and Cogsworth Will Reunite with Belle and the Beast

The roadmap’s Autumn 2025 image may seem rather boring to players not entirely caught up on their Disney lore. The image features maroon-accented walls and furniture, but most importantly, a three-pronged candelabra and a grandfather clock. Accompanied by the quote “Return to an enchanting Realm,” it’s obvious that Autumn 2025 will take players back into the fantastical world of Beauty and the Beast.

With the candelabra and grandfather clock featured prominently, the update’s characters will likely be Lumiere and Cogsworth, two of the talking furniture pieces in Beauty and the Beast. Disney Dreamlight Valley has updated its base game with sidekicks before, with last year’s Jungle Adventure update featuring Timon and Pumbaa specifically coming to mind. Autumn also suits a Beauty and the Beast update perfectly, as the color palette of the film is reminiscent of the season. Lumiere and Cogsworth are sure to inspire lots of furniture items for the update, considering they themselves are pieces of furniture. It would be unsurprising to see a candelabra and grandfather clock make their way into the game, not just in the forms of Lumiere and Cogsworth, but as decorations themselves. Other fun items could be a maid outfit inspired by Lumiere’s feather-duster girlfriend Babette, or a tea set in honor of Chip and Mrs. Potts.

Cinderella Finally Heads to Disney Dreamlight Valley this Winter

Winter 2025’s image might be the most exciting of them all. The aforementioned press release, where the base game roadmap was revealed, seems to understand this too, mentioning that the end of the year brings “another Villager who [Disney Dreamlight Valley thinks] will be a dream come true for many.” This is because a powder blue pumpkin carriage is depicted on Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s Winter 2025’s teaser, suggesting that Cinderella has finally fled from the ball to the Valley.

Cinderella was actually revealed in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s initial trailer, making her exclusion from the game at launch rather surprising to players. With her release slated for Winter 2025, she will head to the game two years after launch. Her addition to the game has been a long time coming and is yet another step towards adding all of Disney’s princesses to Disney Dreamlight Valley. Unlike Summer and Autumn 2025’s additions, which will likely feature two characters each, it would be unsurprising for Winter’s update to only feature Cinderella. Disney Dreamlight Valley tends to only add one character every three updates, as it will do with Peter Pan in Mysteries of Skull Rock, and it did with Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas in the Sew Delightful update.

In terms of items, female-framed clothing will likely be inspired by Cinderella herself, whereas male-framed clothing will likely be inspired by Prince Charming, regardless of whether he is included in the Winter 2025 update. Cinderella’s Friendship Quests will likely foster interactions with the Fairy Godmother, as she is the only other character from Cinderella featured on Disney Dreamlight Valley’s character roster. Items from Cinderella’s ball gown ensemble would be unsurprising for her Friendship Rewards, but hopefully more casual clothing like her maid outfit or her pink dress will be available in the shop. The second half of 2025 certainly looks bright for Disney Dreamlight Valley and features characters and properties that players have long asked Gameloft to add to the hit simulation game.
