Gamers are reporting that Gears of War: Reloaded‘s ongoing multiplayer beta is experiencing some big issues. These problems appear to be prominent enough that they are preventing some players from being able to connect to Gears of War: Reloaded matches.
Gears of War: Reloaded was first announced at the start of May, and it was confirmed to be a remaster of the first game with 4K graphics and 120 FPS multiplayer. Some had expected a remaster of the original Gears of War trilogy, so it was somewhat surprising to see just the first title get this treatment. It was exciting news, regardless, especially for PlayStation 5 gamers. Gears of War: Reloaded was confirmed for Sony’s platform, marking the first time in the series’ history that it would appear on PlayStation.

Gears of War: Reloaded PS5 Version Has Unique Feature That Xbox and PC Don’t
Gears of War: Reloaded is bringing the franchise to Sony consoles for the first time, with the PlayStation 5 release receiving a unique distinction.
After the Gears of War: Reloaded multiplayer beta dates were revealed, fans had circled June 13 in their calendar as the date to hop back into the action. However, reports from players across forums online indicate the beta has some pretty big connectivity problems at the moment, leaving many players unable to connect to matches. One user claimed they were “having Halo:MCC launch flashbacks,” while another brutally dubbed the game “Gears of War: Loading.” On top of it all, others in the same threads have reported hit registration issues in the game, leading to a pretty negative first impression for the Gears of War: Reloaded multiplayer beta so far.
Some Players Are Struggling to Connect to Matches in Gears of War: Reloaded’s Beta
The good news is that the Gears Community X account claims that The Coalition is “aware of issues in matchmaking, connectivity, and access to the Multiplayer Beta affecting some players,” claiming, “we’ll keep you updated throughout the weekend.” With the first Gears of War: Reloaded multiplayer beta only set to run until June 15, it remains to be seen if The Coalition plans to extend it any longer to compensate for some being unable to play throughout this period. The good news is that it’s better for these problems to happen now rather than the full release on August 26.
When Gears of War: Reloaded hits shelves later this year, it could be the perfect way for players to get their series fix before the next big release. Gears of War: E-Day was announced just over a year ago, and is set to be released next year. No concrete launch date has been locked in for the title, but the prospect of first returning to where Marcus and Dom’s story started in Gears of War: Reloaded before rejoining them in E-Day is an exciting one.
