Even before you arrive at Murray’s Costume Manor in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic, it is clear that something has gone terribly wrong there. It is completely abandoned, but you aren’t alone there. To make matters worse, the power is out, and that limits what you can do and where you can go. So, while you do have to watch out for the terrifying (and murderous) mimic, your first priority will be to get the power restored so that you can go further into the factory in search of the prototype, and here is how you can do that.

How to Restore Power in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic
While you can find the door to the Power Room almost right away, you won’t be able to get in. Your Data Driver doesn’t have the proper credentials, and to get into the Power Room, you will need to obtain a Security Clearance first. To do this, you will need to head to the Security Office.
First, activate the generator outside the door to gain access to the room. Then you will need to talk to Dispatch on the intercom to gain access to the Data Driver upgrade terminal. However, upgrading the Data Driver isn’t just a simple flip of the switch. You have to complete a small mini-game first. The goal of this mini-game is to have each Bit display a “1”.
To do this, you will need to use the menu to change which track the arrow is on. Once the arrow has moved through a Bit, quickly select a row for it to be on, and then press “Select” (X on a PlayStation 5 controller) to move it as needed. Once each Bit displays a one, your Data Driver will be upgraded. At that point, you have access to any door that requires a Security Clearance.
Return to the door that has “Power Room” over it. Use your Data Driver to gain access to the room and then approach the large generator. When you are ready, pull the lever to open the generator.
How to Solve the Power Room Puzzle in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic
If you’ve ever played Bioshock, this puzzle has some similarities to the hacking mini-game. Essentially, you need to rotate the hexagons and form a path for the pipes to connect to the port on the lower left side. This puzzle does have a time limit, and if the tank fills before you are done putting together a path, the generator will overflow and reset.
In order to solve this puzzle, rotate the hexagons to match the pattern in the image above. When you do this, the power will be restored to this area of Murray’s Costume Manor. To continue the story, head back to the Security Office for additional details.
