Erythrite Crystals are a type of mineral resource that players will encounter once they hit the midgame in Dune: Awakening. Unlike metal ores like Iron and Copper, Erythrite Crystals do not appear on the surface of Arrakis — instead, players need to go underground, where Erythrite Crystals can be found almost everywhere.
If you plan on making anything that needs Cobalt Paste in Dune: Awakening, then you’re going to need to mine a ton of Erythrite Crystals. Here’s where you can mine plenty of Erythrite Crystals early, as well as a couple of tips on how to get plenty more as easily and as quickly as possible.

How to Get Erythrite Crystals in Dune: Awakening
Players can find Erythrite Crystals in the underground areas of the Hagga Rift. This includes the enormous chasm spanning the region, the abandoned CHOAM mining facilities, and the Moisture Sealed Caves hidden along the tunnel walls.
Exploring the Hagga Rift may seem like a hassle at first, but you can drive along its outcrops and tunnels for faster traversal. There are multiple cave tunnels there that go from one level to the next, and the abandoned mining facilities form a navigable path that should make exploration easier. Still, given the sheer size of the Rift, make sure to bring plenty of water and spare fuel for your vehicle.
Dune Buggy
The absolute best way to get Erythrite and other resources is to use a Buggy equipped with a Buggy Cutteray. Buggies can carry a dizzying amount of heavy resources, and if you weld a Cutteray on it, you can easily mine things from inside the vehicle. Every bit of ore you mine will get sent straight to the Buggy’s inventory, making it a very convenient way to get all sorts of minerals, especially once you unlock the Planetologist skill tree.
Best Place to Get Erythrite Crystals Early in Dune: Awakening
If you don’t have a Buggy yet, you can easily get plenty of Erythrite Crystals early one with just your Sandbike. There’s a Moisture Sealed Cave inside the Hagga Rift that has multiple Erythrite nodes for you to harvest.
The cave is near the Spiral, one of the CHOAM facilities in the Rift that has now been occupied by slavers. You can reach the cave easily by starting from the southeastern end of Hagga Rift that borders the eastern end of Jabar Eifrit Al-junab. Reaching it can be a little confusing at first, but if you explore the chasm, you should be able to find it. Here are some directions:
- From the starting point in the map above, drive forward until you see a wrecked buggy.
- From the wrecked buggy, follow the path to the right, which leads to the upper level of the Hagga Rift.
- From the Rift entrance, turn left, then look for one of the land bridges connecting your side of the Rift to the other.
- Cross the land bridge, then go past the stone pillars to find a tunnel to the right.
- Follow the tunnel, and once you reach the end, turn right.
- Keep following the path until you find the cave entrance to your right.
The cave is occupied by a couple of hostile NPCs. Take them out, and you’ll be free to get all the crystals inside. If you have a base in the Hagga Rift, it should take 2-3 minutes to drive to and from this cave, though it could take longer depending on where your base is.
