New PlayStation Shooter Game is Going Viral

A newly released shooter game suddenly surges up the recent release bestseller list on PlayStation following negativity being slung at the game.

Just hours before the highly anticipated State of Play event, Sony has begun rolling out a brand-new firmware update for the PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, it’s somewhat of a lackluster update, as the official patch notes, which can be found further down this article, state that version 25.04-11.40.00 merely improves the messages and usability on some screens. While past updates have brought new features and improvements to the console, this month’s doesn’t appear to include any significant changes. But, with that being said, Sony does release new firmware updates regularly, so there’s always a chance that a more substantial update will be released in the coming weeks.

While the latest firmware update may come as a disappointment for many, there is plenty for PlayStation 5 owners to look forward to this month. Not only is there a new State of Play event taking place today, June 4, but Summer Game Fest is also right around the corner with some big announcements likely to be made. As for new releases, June has some heavy hitters lined up for PlayStation 5 owners, with the likes of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, MindsEye, FBC: Firebreak, and more coming to the console over the next few weeks.

For those who might have missed the announcement, the console’s last major software update was in April, and it finally brought back the classic PlayStation themes. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original PlayStation last year, Sony added a collection of limited-time PS5 themes that altered the sounds and design of the console’s homescreen to match either the PS1, PS2, PS3, or PS4, depending on the user’s choice. These themes were eventually removed from the console after a few months, but the studio finally opted to bring them back permanently earlier this year due to the massive amount of love they received from the community.
