Cronos: The New Dawn is Bloober Team’s next horror offering, and based on new information, it could be great for Bloodborne fans.
The Polish developer has now narrowed down that release window to fall 2025. Taking to the June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase, Bloober Team premiered another Cronos: The New Dawn trailer, subtitled “Survive the Nest.” The promo video offers more than a minute’s worth of new gameplay footage, during which the protagonist—simply called the Traveler—investigates a nest of Orphans, monstrosities that manifested following an apocalyptic event known as The Change.
Cronos: The New Dawn’s Enemies Need to be Burned ASAP
The new trailer highlights the game’s merging mechanics, which allow Orphans to absorb their allies that have fallen in combat, turning into even bigger and faster threats. While the system makes defeated Orphans potentially even more dangerous than those still active, this interaction can be prevented by burning their corpses. As a result, Cronos: The New Dawn‘s monsters must be burned as soon as they fall.
The Orphans themselves are described as monstrosities born out of “humanity’s darkest nightmares.” Those horrors largely date back to Cronos: The New Dawn‘s version of the ’80s, when the mysterious Change took place, eradicating most of humanity. The Traveler is tasked with going back in time in order to save those who didn’t survive the apocalypse. They are not the first to attempt this perilous journey, with the new trailer highlighting as much by showing glimpses of another Traveler, referred to as the Predecessor.
Cronos: The New Dawn will release day-one on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. No pricing details have yet been shared by Bloober Team, with its upcoming title still not being available for pre-order. Between its action-driven gameplay and setting, Cronos: The New Dawn may appeal to fans of Dead Space and the body horror genre. While the game won’t be available on previous-generation consoles, its PC hardware requirements are relatively modest for 2025. The minimum setup includes an Intel Core i5-8600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, a GeForce GTX 1080 or Radeon RX 5700 XT, and 16GB of RAM.
