Marvel Rivals players have taken to social media to discuss the description associated with Jeff’s new Sunshine Land Shark skin, which seems to feature a hidden message. NetEase Games recently revealed its major Season 2.5 update for Marvel Rivals, which brought the villain Ultron to the popular hero shooter as a flying Strategist.

The recent patch that introduced Season 2.5 contained some major changes for Jeff the Land Shark in Marvel Rivals, which caused a bit of controversy within the community. The biggest change involved Jeff’s Joyful Splash ability, which has the Strategist shoot a stream of water to heal nearby allies. The rework now allows Joyful Splash to pierce through allies and enemies while dishing out both healing and damage simultaneously. As a byproduct of this change, Jeff can also charge his ultimate ability faster than before.

In a recent post on Reddit, DapperMudkip shared an image of the description for Jeff’s Sunshine Land Shark skin in Marvel Rivals, which seemed to amuse many fans. The description appears to feature Mister Fantastic chastising The Thing for sending “random messages” in the emergency chat of The Fantastic Four. He then quoted the message and asked if The Thing was using some kind of cipher to communicate.

Jeff’s New Skin Features a Hidden Message in Marvel Rivals

At first glance, it would seem that Marvel Rivals‘ Jeff the Land Shark may have simply taken The Thing’s phone and sent nonsense messages to The Fantastic Four’s emergency group channel. However, a couple of gamers mentioned that the message could be shifted by 22 letters to spell out “jeffthelandsharkisthebest” and “ilovekrakoa.” Many fans reacted with surprise and delight, with some stating that they could hardly believe NetEase Games would include something so random in the description for a skin. Jeff’s Sunshine Land Shark costume was released on June 5 and is available as part of a cosmetic bundle for 2,200 Units.

Jeff the Land Shark wasn’t the only hero to receive a new skin, as NetEase Games also released a Weapon X costume for Wolverine in Marvel Rivals. The skin draws inspiration from the comics, showing an even more feral version of the popular Duelist after he escaped the Weapon X program. Unfortunately, not everyone is happy with NetEase Games’ version of the costume. It would seem that some players have taken issue with the pants Wolverine is wearing, as they’re a big departure from the original design that shows the mutant wearing almost no clothing. While some may be split on the cosmetic’s design, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
