Street Fighter 6 Uses AEW Star Kenny Omega to Reveal 4 New Characters

Street Fighter 6 has teamed up with Kenny Omega to reveal that Sagat, C. Viper, Alex, and Ingrid will be the Season 3 DLC characters. The AEW star is an avid gamer and a familiar name to Street Fighter 6 players, having previously dressed as Cody in the Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition trailer in 2018.

Capcom recently wrapped up Season 2 with Elena’s debut in Street Fighter 6 as a DLC character. Before her, players saw the return of M. Bison in June 2024, with guest characters Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui being added in September 2024 and February 2025, respectively. The first Street Fighter 6 season, meanwhile, brought Rashid and A.K.I. in July and September 2023, with Ed and Akuma arriving in February and May 2024. Now, Street Fighter 6 is gearing up for the next season, and fans will see even more familiar faces back in the game.

Street Fighter 6 has released a new trailer starring Kenny Omega to reveal Alex, C. Viper, Ingrid, and Sagat as the Season 3 fighters. The trailer shows Omega sitting in the locker room after a wrestling match, and when he looks in the mirror, Alex’s reflection appears. He then shows up dressed as Alex, C. Viper, Ingrid, and Sagat. Despite the announcement, Capcom hasn’t given exact dates for when the fighters will join the Street Fighter 6 roster. Sagat will be added in the summer of 2025, with C. Viper and Alex arriving in the fall and winter, and Ingrid debuting in the spring of 2026.

Sagat is one of the characters who made the Street Fighter series a hit. He first appeared in the original Street Fighter as the final boss and returns as a playable character in Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition. Alex debuted in Street Fighter 3: New Generation, with the grappler becoming the main character of the Street Fighter 3 series and a popular name in the community. C. Viper is the lethal CIA agent first seen in Street Fighter 4, while Ingrid is one of the franchise’s most mysterious characters who made her debut in Capcom Fighting Evolution.

It’s important to note that the trailer didn’t share any gameplay of the Street Fighter 6 Year 3 characters, except for a brief snippet in which rivals Sagat and Ryu face off. Players can quickly see Sagat using his iconic Tiger Shots, Tiger Uppercut, and Tiger Knee, and a glimpse of one of his Super Arts.
