World of Warcraft gives players a closer look at the Lorewalking feature coming in Patch 11.1.7, Legacy of Arathor, including rewards for completion.

The update also adds a new system called Overcharged Delves, and now, World of Warcraft has shared a helpful video on Twitter that goes into detail about them. Overcharged Delves are special affixes unique to six different Delves from WoW: The War Within. Two will be active every day, identified by crackling lightning over the Bountiful Delve symbol on the map. Players who conquer the unique traps, enemies, and mechanics in Overcharged Delves will be rewarded with new gear, Delve currency, and more.

What is an Overcharged Delve in WoW Patch 11.1.7?

  • Unique high-difficulty affixes for two of the following Bountiful Delves daily:

    • Fungal Folly (Isle of Dorn)
    • Kriegval’s Rest (Isle of Dorn)
    • Nightfall Sanctum (Hallowfall)
    • Skittering Breach (Hallowfall)
    • The Spiral Weave (Azj’Kahet)
    • Sidestreet Sluice (Undermine)
  • Improved Delve rewards for completion
  • Upgradable Durable Information Securing Container belt with special abilities that work in and out of Delves
  • Overcharged Titan Consoles that unlock buffs within Overcharged Delves via Titan Disc Shards
  • New achievements and rewards:

    • Overcharged Delver: Complete four out of six Overcharged Delves to earn the Redeployment Module toy
    • Titan Console Overcharged: Unlock every skill in the Overcharged Titan Console to earn the OC91 Chariot mount

Completing at least four of these Delves awards the Overcharged Delver achievement and the Redeployment Module, a Titan-themed Hearthstone toy. To facilitate this, fans can collect Titan Disc Shards from Overcharged Delves, which can then be used to unlock special upgrades from Overcharged Titan Consoles that are only active in these special instances. Unlocking every skill at this console awards the Titan Console Overcharged achievement, as well as the OC91 Chariot, a Titan mech suit mount.

Beyond that, players can also obtain the Durable Information Securing Container – a powerful belt that works in and out of Overcharged Delves – via a short quest from Dagran at the Delver’s Headquarters. Similar to Cyrce’s Circlet from WoW Patch 11.0.7, the D.I.S.C. can be upgraded and equipped with special powers by completing weekly quests.

Delves have been a big hit since they were added in The War Within, and Overcharged Delves promise some exciting twists on the formula. If the new system is popular with fans, it is possible Blizzard could iterate on the affixes and bring them back in some form in future World of Warcraft updates and expansions.
