A Pokemon fan has designed new Gigantamax forms for Gengar and shared the results online. Gen 1 features several pocket monsters that are still absolute favorites among Pokemon fans, with Gengar being one of them.

Gengar is one of the most iconic Ghost-type Pokemon introduced by the franchise. Obtained by trading a Haunter or exposing it to a Linking Cord, Gengar can hide in the shadow of any object despite its large body. Although sometimes malicious, the Kanto critter has a mischievous nature, enjoying playing pranks and pretending to be the shadow of its victims. It is also loyal to trainers who treat it well, as seen with the Gengar captured by Ash. Showing great creativity, a Pokemon fan showed what it would be like if Gengar had other forms.

On the Pokemon subreddit, user LapiSan_Laboratory shared fan art with two new Gigantamax forms for Gengar. The first form depicts the Pokemon with a body split into two parts and a large tongue connecting them. Its G-Max Move is Treat, and with it, Gengar deals damage and changes the target’s type to pure Ghost. The second form depicts it with completely white eyes, a smoke-like appearance, and two other shadows. Its G-Max Move is Get Out, which causes damage and makes the opponent switch Pokemon. The fan art is also based on Agatha, a member of the Indigo Elite Four, and Morty, the Gym Leader of Ecruteak City in Johto, who are experts in ghost Pokemon, and use Gengar.

Pokemon Fan Art Gives New Gigantamax Forms to Gengar With Inventive Design

Gengar is one of the Pokemon with a Gigantamax form, and its appearance is impressive. Its body becomes larger, partially sinking into the ground so that only its head, tail, and arms remain visible. The design of its mouth resembles a tunnel, and it is said that the Ghost-type’s tongue leads to the afterlife. Gigantamax Gengar is also the only critter capable of using the G-Max Move called G-Max Terror, an ability that deals damage and prevents the opponent from switching Pokemon during battle.

Gigantamaxing was introduced in 2019 with the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield, allowing Pokemon to unlock a powerful new form that increases their size, strength, and appearance. Although the Pokemon franchise has over 1,000 pocket monsters, only 32 have the Gigantamax form. The fan art shared by LapiSan_Laboratory is interesting because it shows that, even though it’s a gimmick introduced a few years ago, it still inspires Pokemon fans to create fan art.
