Grand Prix Star Ranks in Mario Kart World

Once players have completed the four tracks in a Grand Prix, there will be a celebration, and trophies will be handed out to the top three players. When players return to the Grand Prix menu after the ceremony, they will find an icon next to the one that they’ve just finished, and it will display their best performance. Here are the icons that may appear next to each Grand Prix in Mario Kart World:

Bronze trophy
Silver trophy
Gold trophy (no stars)
Gold trophy (one star)
Gold trophy (two stars)
Gold trophy (three stars)

If players are finding it difficult to get three stars in a Grand Prix, they might want to play on a lower difficulty and opt for 100CC or 50CC, at least until they become more acquainted with the tracks. Star rankings are displayed according to the player’s highest score on the hardest difficulty.

For example, if players get a silver trophy playing 150CC, each difficulty will automatically be updated with that same trophy unless they have a better one to display in its place. In this case, if they had a gold trophy on 50CC and a bronze trophy on 100CC, the gold trophy would remain intact but the bronze trophy would be replaced by the silver trophy, which was obtained when playing on a higher difficulty.
