Elden Ring: Rennala Actress Wish List

Elden Ring continues to be an influential title, as it’s now spawned its own live-action movie adaptation. Set to be produced by A24 and directed by Alex Garland, the Elden Ring movie has been one of the most intriguing announcements within the last few weeks. There are plenty of compelling challenges that will come with adapting FromSoftware’s hit fantasy adventure, and one of the most daunting is finding the right cast.

Casting the Elden Ring movie is no easy feat, especially when the game has the burden of reaching the same heights as its source material. However, with the right group of actors, Alex Garland and A24 can successfully bring Elden Ring to the big screen. One of the trickiest roles to cast may be Rennala, but there are some strong options that are hopefully being considered.

A24 is bringing Elden Ring to the big screen, and when it comes to the potential cast, Miquella has some compelling possibilities.

Actresses Who Should Play Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon

Gwendoline Christie

Known best as Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones and Captain Phasma in Star Wars, Gwendoline Christie has staked her claim in pop culture. Her porcelain complexion and impressive height make her seem like a shoo-in for Rennala. Standing at 6’3″, Gwendoline Christie has also been a fixture in the high fashion world. She has a regal demeanor on the runway that could easily be beneficial to playing Rennala, if A24 decided to eye her for the role. Also, because of her experience on Game of Thrones, she’s no stranger to the fantasy genre.

Alex Garland has built an impressive resume in the industry. Some of his works include Ex Machina, Annihilation, Civil War, and 28 Days Later.

Elizabeth Debicki

Also standing at an impressive 6’3″, Elizabeth Debicki has risen through the film industry ranks within the past decade, proving that she’s a standout among her generation. The Great Gatsby, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Tenet, The Crown, and MaXXXine are just a few of the films under her belt. Like Gwendoline Christie, her height makes her a strong choice to play Rennala. In Elden Ring, Rennala stands apart from many of the other bosses encountered throughout the game, as she’s a human and not a god or demigod. However, despite being a human, she’s far larger than a lot of bosses, and Debicki’s height could be a great way to illustrate that in a live-action adaptation.

Tilda Swinton

Over the years, Tilda Swinton has become one of the most iconic actors of her time. Whether it’s a smaller-budget drama like We Need to Talk About Kevin or more fantasy-driven stories like The Chronicles of Narnia or the Constantine adaptation, her resume is a great example of her range. Because of her range and legacy in the industry, it’s not hard to imagine a world where she would be cast as Rennala.

Recent rumors have suggested that actor Kit Connor could be taking on the lead role in the Elden Ring movie. If true, it would make sense, since he and Garland recently worked together on A24’s Warfare.

Charlize Theron

From action-packed films like Mad Max: Fury Road to award-winning dramas like Monster, Charlize Theron also boasts some impressive range. Her performance in Snow White and the Huntsman makes a strong case for her taking on the role of Rennala. She may not be as clear of a contender as the other three actresses are, but Theron could definitely bring a fun edge to Rennala’s personality that could make her even more intimidating than she already is.

It may be a while before A24 finally reveals the full cast of the Elden Ring movie, but until then, it’s a lot of fun to speculate about which actors could take on such interesting roles. The characters of Elden Ring present fascinating casting possibilities, and when it comes to Rennala, some of the film industry’s best actresses could be strong choices for this particular character.
