How to Get More APAS Memory in Death Stranding 2

As one would expect from a sequel, Death Stranding 2 improves upon the gameplay of its predecessor. While the core gameplay remains largely unchanged, many new features have been added that result in a much less clunky experience for both veteran players and newcomers. In the first Death Stranding, the only way you could really improve Sam and his capacity for being a one-man delivery service was by getting better equipment.

But with Death Stranding 2, Sam’s stats can be leveled up, and later on, you gain access to APAS Enhancements that allow you to be better at what you do. But in order to use these APAS Enhancements, you will need a lot of APAS Memory.

APAS Memory is essentially a point system that determines how many APAS Enhancements you can have equipped on Sam at any given time. Each APAS Enhancement varies in terms of its effect and how many points of memory it takes to equip. Once you unlock this feature early on in Death Stranding 2, you start out with just 180 APAS Memory. While this is enough to unlock a few of the APAS Enhancements, you will need a lot more as time goes on.

APAS Enhancement choices are not permanent. They can be switched on or off in any way you prefer as long as you have enough APAS Memory.

How to Get APAS Memory in Death Stranding 2

There are two ways to get more APAS Memory as you progress through Death Stranding 2. The first method is to connect more areas of Australia to the Chiral Network, and the second method is to increase your Connection Level with settlements across Australia. Of these two methods, using the Q-pid to expand the Chiral Network provides more APAS Memory than increasing your Connection Level.

Connecting some places will get you 35 points, while others will get you 20 points. This is more than Connection Level, which increases your APAS Memory by 15. While the latter isn’t as much of an increase, every little bit helps if you want to use more APAS Enhancements. Increases gained through connecting the scattered settlements of Australia is also part of the story, so you will get those just by playing the game.

No matter what your playstyle is, there are APAS Enhancements that will support you. So for that reason, going out of your way to get more APAS Memory is certainly time well spent.
