Helldivers 2 has just shared the patch notes for its June 2025 update, which brings important weapon fixes, Leviathan balance changes, and other improvements to gameplay. Helldivers 2 first came out in February 2024, and since then, developer Arrowhead Game Studios has regularly released new updates to keep the game fresh and engaging.
Helldivers 2, the co-op shooter known for its fast action and humor, has been very successful since launch. However, its review history has been rocky, with players sometimes using review-bombing to show their frustration with Sony and Arrowhead Game Studios. For example, in May, some bad reviews appeared on Steam because of problems with the Mega-City defense mission, especially the Equality-on-Sea objective. Lately, things have been more positive, with the Helldivers 2 community coming together in a reverse review-bombing effort, filling the game with good reviews to raise its user score.

Helldivers 2’s Leaked New Enemies Could Mean One Faction is Back with a Vengeance
Leaks have teased a new enemy type, and if true, a powerful Helldivers 2 faction may become even more of a force to be reckoned with.
On June 24, Helldivers 2 released Patch 01.003.104, bringing many fixes and balance changes to improve gameplay. One of the main updates fixed several weapon bugs, including a problem in which mounted weapons in Helldivers 2 couldn’t shoot after using stims, and a fix for the P-92 Warrant’s bullets wrongly going through surfaces after bouncing. Text display problems with the Guard Dog stratagem were also fixed, along with fixes for weapon grip issues and melee attacks not working after using stims or emotes. Also, a bug that made mission items disappear when entering vehicles has now been fixed.
The patch also brings important changes to Helldivers 2‘s Leviathan enemies, directly responding to community feedback. Leviathans have been made weaker to feel easier to handle, no longer causing ragdoll effects and doing less damage to vehicles. Their spawn rates have been reduced, making them less overwhelming during missions, and an extra second has been added between their target-locking shots. Also, Helldivers 2 players can now destroy Leviathan cannons, adding new tactical options to confront these massive foes. Small fixes were also made to stop chat actions from causing unwanted weapon switches while using mounted weapons, emotes, or victory poses.
While the latest update brings many good changes, recent leaks suggest even more exciting content is coming soon for Helldivers 2. A recent leak revealed that Arrowhead may soon add a new enemy called the Observer, from the Illuminate group. The Observer moves around while sweeping a beam toward players, though it has trouble aiming well. Meanwhile, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani has hinted at the upcoming release of the “Review Bomb Cape,” a cosmetic item jokingly referring to Helldivers 2‘s rough history with review bombing.
