When it comes to stamina and endurance in Death Stranding 2, players are going to need to keep it as high as possible so that they avoid tiring Sam out and getting themselves into deadly situations that they will be too tired to run away from.
How to Restore Stamina in Death Stranding 2
Stamina is consumed from exhausting Sam by running and straining him by crossing rivers and scaling steep slopes. Stamina will also reduce the longer that players hold heavy items and reach their carry capacity, which is noted by the gray section of the Stamina Gauge. However, players can restore Stamina by resting and drinking water from their canteen. Players can rest by holding the Square button, which will cause Sam to sit down wherever he is so that players can massage his shoulders and even sleep. Idling in this state is a great way to restore stamina after a hard fight with BTs, MULEs, or simply after a long journey. Another way to restore Stamina is through drinking water from the canteen, which is accessed in the bottom right of the Equipment wheel, and can be replenished simply by standing in water.
How to Upgrade Stamina in Death Stranding 2
It’s possible to temporarily increase Stamina in Death Stranding 2 if players drink the Energy Drinks found in Sam’s Private Rooms, which are accessed across the bunkers where players can accept delivery requests as they connect humanity to the Chiral Network. Each Energy Drink will increase Sam’s Stamina by 10% to a maximum of 25%, but this Stamina increase is only temporary, meaning players will have to drink more Energy Drinks to keep it up.
