This coming Thursday, June 26 will be a big day for fans of Resident Evil Requiem, as the new game will be featured during the Capcom Spotlight presentation. Resident Evil Requiem was the surprise final announcement at the latest Summer Game Fest event. Capcom showed off the new survival-horror game by confirming playable protagonist Grace Ashcroft and the return to Raccoon City.
Since then, it’s been confirmed that the new game will have the usual Resident Evil-style puzzle-solving and horror, though Requiem will let players choose between first- and third-person viewpoints. Resident Evil fans are no doubt hungry for more information on Requiem, and luckily, they won’t have to wait long to learn more about the game.

Resident Evil 9 Confirms Shock Return to Raccoon City and Surprise Main Character
Capcom caps off the latest Summer Game Fest event by revealing Resident Evil Requiem, also known as Resident Evil 9.
Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem will be one of the featured games at the upcoming Capcom Spotlight event on Thursday, June 26 at 3pm PT. Capcom Spotlight, for those who may not be familiar with it, is similar to Nintendo’s Nintendo Direct or Sony’s PlayStation State of Play, but specific to Capcom and the publisher’s games. The Capcom Spotlight on June 26 will not only feature Resident Evil Requiem, but also Street Fighter 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and Pragmata.
It’s likely that Capcom will reveal exciting new details about Resident Evil Requiem at the show, so fans should be sure to tune in. The big question on everyone’s mind is whether the rumors about Resident Evil Requiem having multiple playable characters are true. According to the leaks and rumors, Resident Evil Requiem‘s real main character is Leon S. Kennedy, with Grace Ashcroft also playing a role but not quite at the same level as Leon. Perhaps that will finally be clarified during the Capcom Spotlight, but that remains to be seen.
It’s also possible that the event won’t have anything all that exciting for Resident Evil fans to chew on. There have been Capcom Spotlights in the past that have largely reiterated information that was already revealed about its featured games, and so that could very well be the case with the Capcom Spotlight taking place on June 26. Ultimately, fans will just have to tune in to the show to find out.
After Capcom Spotlight, the next event that fans can expect to see Resident Evil Requiem at for sure is Gamescom 2025. Gamescom Opening Night Live will take place on August 19, with the show itself running from August 20 to August 24.
