Monster Hunter Wilds Fans Should Mark June 30 on Their Calendars


Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive the much-anticipated Title Update 2 on June 30, according to leaked information on the PlayStation Store. This particular update will be the second major content refresh for Monster Hunter Wilds since its release in February.

When the mainline Monster Hunter franchise returned after a seven-year hiatus with the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds, it took the world by storm, with th e latest entry in the series becoming an instant critical and commercial hit. Boosted by an impressive score of 89 on OpenCritic, copies of the action-RPG flew off the shelf, with over eight million units sold in its first three days—the fastest Capcom title to cross that milestone. In the months since then, the devs have been working on keeping players engaged, with certain big additions landing in Monster Hunter Wilds as part of Title Update 1 in April. Courtesy of a fresh leak, the game’s next major content drop has also received a release date.

The Street Fighter collab in Monster Hunter Wilds has introduced a new mechanics with the armor set that could change the series moving forward.

The PS Store page for Monster Hunter Wilds prematurely revealed that the Title Update 2 would be rolling out on June 30, alongside some details of what to expect from it. The new information confirmed that two fan-favorite monsters, including Lagiacrus, were poised to join the roster. More Monster Hunter Wilds event quests were also confirmed to be coming soon, with rewards like the Doshaguma mask to be unlocked by completing them. One of these quests revolves around the Arch-Tempered Uth Duna, which players can complete to claim the gamma variant armor set. Besides that, layered weapons, which allow changing weapon appearance without impacting their stats or decorations, are also part of the upcoming batch of content. Additionally, it was also shared that a gesture set freebie, various paid cosmetics, and more customization-related items would make their way to the game with the new update.

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 to Arrive on June 30

Recently, Monster Hunter Wilds has faced criticism for its reported optimization issues on PC and the lack of new monsters to hunt down, leading to its review score on Steam slipping down to “Overwhelmingly Negative.” With the Title Update 2 looking set to arrive in the nick of time, Capcom hopes that it can start to turn the tide in its favor and get on the good side of the Monster Hunter community once again. However, before any of that can happen, there’s a quickly approaching event that the gaming giant has to take care of first.

The upcoming Capcom Spotlight event, which was presumably meant to unveil the Title Update 2 release date for Monster Hunter Wilds, is scheduled to take place on June 26. It has been confirmed to feature some prominent current and future titles coming from the company, including Monster Hunter Wilds, Resident Evil Requiem, Street Fighter 6, and Pragmata.
