Dune Awakening has released its newest round of patch notes following the latest in a rapid-fire series of post-launch updates. This new round of adjustments and bug fixes in Dune: Awakening makes multiple changes to some early problems players have been facing, ranging from improving the PvP gameplay experience to improving the stability of the title’s servers.
It has been just over a week since the survival game’s official launch on June 10, but Dune: Awakening had already achieved major player milestones during its five-day early access period, drawing in more than 93,000 concurrent players on Steam after just a few hours of availability. Those early numbers have more than doubled following the game’s full launch, with the current peak of more than 189,000 concurrent players having been reached on June 15.

Dune Awakening Players Left Frustrated by Endgame Activity
Dune: Awakening players voice frustrations with the way some of the MMO’s endgame mechanics work, citing unfair advantages for some players.
While it’s still quite early in the survival game’s lifespan, the development team has been hard at work making adjustments to the game and has just released patch 1.1.0.15. Probably the biggest changes made in the new update concern developers’ response to PvP problems in Dune: Awakening. The first respawn in the Deep Desert, the game’s PvP zone, will now occur after 70 seconds, and all subsequent respawns will take 115 seconds. Prior to the latest patch, many fans had complained about exceptionally short respawn timers, which had been reviving players in as little as 12 seconds. This resulted in unfair advantages for larger teams, who could take advantage of the short respawn timers to recklessly rush opponents with their overwhelming numbers, and creative director Joel Bylos had recently stated that the team was working to address this balancing issue.
Vehicles in Dune: Awakening are also seeing some changes made to them in this latest patch, with one change that should also greatly change the landscape of the PvP scene. Most notably, players will now no longer receive damage when their characters are hit by vehicles. This change will have some players switching up their PvP strategies, as many fans of the game have been complaining about opponents using nigh-invincible Ornithopters to mow down the competition. In addition, players who become stuck in one of the game’s maps while operating a vehicle will need to exit it before the unstuck button even appears, as vehicles cannot currently become unstuck.
As in past patches, the developers at Funcom have once again announced further increases in the game’s server and client stability. This will again affect the Deep Desert, as a bug fix resolves an issue that had been causing players’ games to freeze up when they tried crossing through the region’s border. Additionally, Dune: Awakening players selecting private servers in the game’s server browser will now see a pop-up message notifying them that they are not entering one of the game’s public servers.
