The next Grand Theft Auto Online update may finally be adding purchasable mansions. The popular live service title’s highly anticipated “Money Fronts” update was released on June 17, and it didn’t take long for Grand Theft Auto Online data miners to uncover evidence that suggests a major new update is already in the works for later this year.
Ever since Grand Theft Auto Online was released in 2013, Rockstar Games has released a steady stream of new content updates at least twice a year. Although there are exceptions, any major Grand Theft Auto Online update is usually released in the Summer, often around June, and then in the Winter, usually in December. After the launch of “Agents of Sabotage” in December 2024, fans have been patiently waiting for the next big patch. Thankfully, the wait is finally over, as Grand Theft Auto Online‘s Money Fronts update was finally released earlier today. While most are busy checking out all of the new businesses and vehicles, data miners have uncovered details on the next content update for later this year.

GTA Online May Add Mansions Later This Year
Shortly after the latest Grand Theft Auto Online update was released, data miners such as Floorball discovered new in-game files that suggest mansions will be added to the game in a future update (likely in December, given the game’s usual update schedule). A line of text reads, “You have earned an exclusive discount on a future property purchase with Prix Luxury Real Estate. They will be in contact again soon when properties become available.” As of right now, Prix Luxury Real Estate does not exist in Grand Theft Auto Online, which means a new website with some accompanying properties is likely going to be added to the game. A follow-up post by the leaker also claims that there will be three missions with the update, which also reference luxury property development.
Given that the update is likely still around six months away, further details on the patch remain a mystery. Grand Theft Auto fans have long been requesting that Rockstar bring back Michael De Santa in a new GTA Online update, but with Grand Theft Auto 6 on the horizon, there likely aren’t many more updates left to go. Although it’s currently unclear what will happen to GTA Online once Grand Theft Auto 6 is released, many believe the game will be sunset in favor of a Grand Theft Auto Online 2. If that turns out to be the case, the upcoming December update will likely be the game’s final major patch.
There’s still plenty of time to go until Grand Theft Auto Online comes to an end, though, as Rockstar Games recently delayed the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 into next year. The highly anticipated title was initially set to release in Fall 2025, but developer and publisher Rockstar Games announced it has delayed the release date to May 26, 2026, in order to continue improving the title to meet the expectations of players. Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with no mention of a PC release as of yet.
