Marvel Rivals Leak Suggests It’s Adding a Feature Straight Out of Overwatch

A Marvel Rivals leak revealed a feature similar to Overwatch‘s endorsement system, and it might be coming in a future update. As a PvP hero shooter, Marvel Rivals features a cast of incredible superheroes with different abilities who bring exciting variety to each team-up.

Since launching in December 2024, Marvel Rivals has drawn many comparisons to Overwatch because of the similarities in gameplay and match modes. At the same time, there are also a number of elements that make Marvel Rivals different from Overwatch, such as its team size and the fact that it uses established IP to build its growing roster.

Marvel Rivals Players Frustrated By Big Change in Season 2.5 Update

Marvel Rivals players band together to complain about a frustrating change deployed in Season 2.5, which is essentially making battles harder.

Recently, leaker RivalsPsylocke shared on Twitter that Marvel Rivals has an unused feature called Credit, which is reportedly similar to Overwatch 2‘s endorsement system. It’s said to have a ranking system based on the Credits that players receive every match. The leaker added that the feature has been in the game since launch, but has never been used yet. It’s quite possible that developer NetEase Games might be waiting for the right moment to roll out Credit in Marvel Rivals in a future update.

How Credit Could Work in Marvel Rivals

In Overwatch 2, players can give endorsements to up to two players after each match who display good behavior. Giving an endorsement earns players battle pass points, while those who receive this incentive will get an increase in their endorsement levels. It’s like a badge of honor for one’s sportsmanship, especially in a highly competitive game like Overwatch 2. What’s also interesting is that Overwatch 2 also allows enemy endorsements, which gives them the ability to show their appreciation to non-toxic opponents that played well.

That being said, it’s possible that Marvel Rivals‘ rumored Credit feature will operate the same way, which could hopefully incentivize players to be on their best behavior so they can get high-ranking badges for their good character. This is also important in encouraging sportsmanship among teammates, especially since some roles, like Strategist, are being looked-down upon by some players, which previously caused a Support strike among Marvel Rivals fans who main healers or shielders.

Plus, if the rumored Credit system also gives players battle pass points, it would make it easier for them to claim rewards, like special character skins. Marvel Rivals fans have had issues with battle pass progression in the past, and this alleged feature could make it relatively faster to grind points.
