Another Crab’s Treasure Dev Has a New Co-Op Game Coming on June 16

The developer of Another Crab’s Treasure has announced that its new game Peak will come out on June 16. In addition to Aggro Crab, which developed the indie hit Another Crab’s Treasure and the roguelike Going Under, the project involves Landfall, the developer responsible for other well-known independent games Content Warning and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator.

Another Crab’s Treasure won the hearts of players and became one of the best independent games of 2024. In this charismatic Soulslike, players control Krill, a crab who sets out on an adventure to recover his shell. Content Warning also came out in 2024, and despite its colorful and friendly graphics, it is a game in which players must do spooky things if they want to go viral. Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is a 2021 title in which players pit red and blue armies against each other, with wobbly physics always resulting in hilarious situations. Now, the developers of these popular indie games have teamed up on a new project.

Aggro Crab has announced that Peak will be released on June 16 via Steam. In this new co-op game for PC, players can venture out alone or with up to three friends. The goal is to climb a mountain to its center, as this is the only way to save a mysterious island. To do so, players must help each other get past ledges, set up ropes, and climb spikes as they pass through four different biomes, each with its own dangerous obstacles.

Aggro Crab to Release Peak, a New Game Where Falling Off a Mountain Can Be Fatal

While climbing, Peak players must search for 30 “questionable foods” to survive, find items to help them reach the highest point of the mountain, and tend to their injuries. This adds an element of a survival game to Peak because it makes the quest even more risky, as each issue limits the players’ stamina, making climbing increasingly hard. The game’s Steam page also lists player character customization as one of its features, which will potentially allow players to switch between different accessories and outfits.

According to the trailer released by Aggro Grab on its Twitter account, most of Peak‘s development took place during a month-long game jam. The game’s main selling point is its co-op, which makes it a good option for casual gameplay. However, since it also supports solo play, those who prefer to enjoy co-op games alone hope that Peak delivers the same engaging, colorful, and fun experience in its simplicity.
