The Awakened Hollyberry Cookie is by far the best damage absorber in Cookie Run: Kingdom. She can single-handedly help an entire squad survive, with no need for a healer at all. Hollyberry doesn’t provide any healing options, but when incoming damage passes through her shield, it becomes far less effective against her allies.
With multiple layers of skills, Hollyberry Cookie can be effective in a variety of squads, and there is more than one build to improve her abilities and increase her survivability. However, the most important part is to learn the skills and understand how they work. Here’s everything players need to know in order to maximize her potential.

Hollyberry Cookie’s Skills
Hollyberry Cookie features multiple skills, but almost all of them work based on Shield of Conviction. As Hollyberry’s primary skill, Shield of Conviction is activated for 13 seconds when her ability is used on the battlefield. When active, 45% of the damage that allies would otherwise receive is instead absorbed by the shield. This skill also reduces the amount of damage and CRIT damage that eventually hit allies by 35%. Damage Debuff Resist for allies also increases by the same amount.
The next layer of Hollyberry’s skill is Seed of Life, which activates when a certain amount of damage is taken during Shield of Conviction. Seed of Life doesn’t do anything on its own, but when it reaches 20 stacks, it evolves into Berry of Life, which delivers 20% extra Damage Resist and restores 1.5% of Hollyberry’s HP every second.
The last layer of abilities is Steelbound Passion and Steelbound Guardian. Again, when Hollyberry’s Shield of Conviction takes enough damage, Steelbound Passion gains stacks. When it reaches 20, Steelbound Guardian becomes active, which is Hollyberry’s ultimate ability. Guardian also activates when Hollyberry is down to 25% of her health. With Steelbound Guardian, Hollyberry becomes invulnerable for a brief period, her Max HP increases significantly, and her cooldown resets instantly. Damage Focus, Damage Dampening, and Final Hit Damage all receive impressive buffs during Steelbound Guardian.

Hollyberry Healthy Peanut & Hard Walnut Topping Build
Multiple stats in Hollyberry’s skills rely on her HP, which is the reason why Healthy Peanut should have a persistent presence across all recommended builds. Hollyberry benefits from an increased HP in multiple ways. First, she’s a frontline character, and a higher HP will just let her survive for a longer period of time. Moreover, with higher HP, her damage will also increase, especially the Final Hit Damage, which is a percentage of Hollyberry’s Max HP.
So, the first pick is a Healthy Peanut topping tart. Depending on your luck, an Epic topping tart of Healthy Peanut can grant around a 10% bonus to HP, or even higher. Then, toss in three fully upgraded Healthy Peanut toppings into the empty slots. This will add a 30% boost to the bank, ramping up Hollyberry’s HP by over 40%.
For the remaining slots, you can use Hard Walnut, which simply increases Defense. For a cookie on the frontline, Defense is just as important as HP. Two fully upgraded toppings will grant nearly a 20% Defense increase, and more of that can be earned through Beascuits.

Hollyberry Healthy Peanut & Solid Almond Topping Build
If you need more resistance than attack power for Hollyberry, then this build will suit your playstyle better. While Healthy Peanut is a non-removable option from the builds, you can tune it down a little bit to put in more defensive options. Healthy Peanut isn’t really a defense-focused topping, but when looking at the skills, it serves attack more than defense.
For this build, change the topping tart to Solid Almond. An Epic variant should give you at least 8% of Damage Resist. Add two Solid Almond toppings as well to increase the Damage Resist boost to almost 20% overall. The rest of the slots still belong to Healthy Peanut, providing nearly 30% extra HP.
Damage Resist is also mentioned in Hollyberry’s skills. Adding more value to Damage Resist will help Hollyberry become more effective when using Shield of Conviction or Steelbound Guardian.
Hollyberry’s Beascuit Build
As a Defense cookie, Hollyberry uses Hard Beascuit, which grants her a basic boost to DEF and ATK. Thankfully, both of these stats are beneficial for Hollyberry. A boost to her ATK increases the damage output from basic attacks that are dealt when the ability is on cooldown. Meanwhile, DEF is almost self-explanatory, and it can compensate for the lack of Hard Walnut in the second topping build.
Cookies That Work Well With Hollyberry
Despite having some good attacking skills, Hollyberry is not a massive damage dealer, yet she takes a spot on the frontline. For that reason, it’s best to have at least one Charge cookie next to her to help with the squad’s damage output. Cookies like Dark Cacao, Burning Spice, Stormbringer, or Black Forest can work well next to Hollyberry.
When it comes to the middle line, using either damage dealers or cookies who can apply debuffs will be more worthwhile. For damage, Golden Cheese and White Lily are considerable options. For applying debuff, Eternal Sugar is highly recommended.
The rear line is where opinions divide. Some believe that with Hollyberry’s help, there is no need for a healer anymore, so the rear line can be occupied with heavy damage dealers like Fire Spirit or Wind Archer to increase the squad’s overall damage. On the other hand, some believe it’s crucial to keep Hollyberry alive, sp having at least one healer like Pure Vanilla or Mystic Flour is essential. It depends on the battle conditions, but for PvP fights, it’s best to double down on damage output in the rear line, while for PvE battles, both compositions would work well.
