Fortnite players are trying to figure out if the Chapter 6 Season 3 NPC Ziggy is bugged, because some people have claimed that he failed to help them in the middle of a match after being hired. Epic Games recently ended Fortnite‘s Galactic Battle mini-season, which allowed fans to blow up a Death Star before crashing back down to the island for a new season.

Chapter 6 Season 3 of Fortnite is all about superheroes, and it came with a wide variety of characters and items to bring the theme to life. In addition to adding iconic heroes like Robin and Superman, Epic Games debuted numerous original designs in the battle pass. These characters can also be found as NPCs on the map, which includes Ziggy, who might just be the most just be the most unusual of the bunch. In the trailer for Chapter 6 Season 3, Superman can be seen flying through the sky as a wave of strange energy hits the Battle Bus. Among the passengers was the classic Sun Tan Specialist, who happened to be sitting with a chameleon. When the energy hit the bus, the chameleon and man fused together to create a whole new character.

In a recent post on Reddit, DionAiko urged players not to hire Ziggy, as they claimed that the NPC followed them around taking the longest route, didn’t wield a weapon, and failed to offer any kind of meaningful support. It’s an unfortunate scenario, as hiring the NPC costs players 800 gold in Fortnite, which can take a while to accumulate so early in the season. VellyD said they experienced something similar, as Ziggy stood by and did nothing while they were being attacked by an enemy team, which ultimately resulted in them being eliminated.

Fortnite’s Ziggy Might Be Bugged

Others said that Ziggy is meant to be a medic in Fortnite, offering healing whenever a teammate takes damage. A few fans claimed that Ziggy did heal them after they took damage, though he may have been slow to do so. While several people suggested that his role as a healer might explain why he doesn’t seem to carry a weapon, others stated that previous medics were also able to use guns in combat encounters. As of writing, a portion of the community still seems to be figuring out if the NPC is experiencing some kind of bug.

Fortnite recently nerfed its Bass Boost Hero Item, which allowed players to enhance their movement and take down structures with relative ease. The recent nerf drastically reduced the amount of environmental damage it deals, upsetting some gamers who enjoyed using the item to wipe out structures with a single attack. Others were happy about the change, as they felt it was a bit of a nuisance before the nerf. With a whole new season to enjoy and even more content on the way, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Fortnite.
