Oblivion Remastered Releases New Update for June 2025

Summary

  • The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered Update 1.1 is live across all platforms, fixing crashes, UI elements, and some player animation issues.
  • Players have been awaiting fixes for numerous bugs and issues since the game launched in April.

Update 1.1 for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is now available on all platforms. After being shadow dropped in April following countless rumors of its existence, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has seen incredible fanfare, with new players and veterans alike returning to explore the lands of Cyrodiil and defeat the evil forces threatening its security.

Within two weeks of its launch for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered became one of the best-selling games of 2025, coming in just behind Monster Hunter Wilds and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Currently boasting an average critic score of 82 on OpenCritic, the game has wowed players with its overhauled graphics, updated gameplay systems, and attention to detail, with many dubbing it a full-blown remake rather than a remaster. Now, as its developers continue to filter player feedback, a new update is addressing some ongoing problems and adding some additional polish to the RPG.

Update 1.1 for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is now available, bringing some useful UI changes and bug fixes to players on all platforms. For those utilizing the game’s console, both the ToggleHugVisibility and ShowHud commands are now available, while multiple UI elements have been fixed, including instances of missing text and punctuation issues. Nearly a dozen instances causing crashes have been addressed, along with certain player animation issues and problems with the first-person camera. Infinite loading issues have also been fixed. Players have been awaiting an Oblivion Remastered patch for some time, and more are likely coming in the following weeks and months.

Despite generally positive feedback, Oblivion Remastered has had its share of technical problems, with console players in particular facing major performance issues in the weeks following the game’s launch. Some Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 players have reported that the title’s standard 60FPS quickly degrades, even as soon as 15 minutes into a play session. More recently, a bug has caused some players to become stuck inside an Oblivion gate with no way out.

Players have been inspired by Oblivion Remastered, with many diving into past entries in the series. Unfortunately, Bethesda recently reached a sad milestone, as The Elder Scrolls 6 was unveiled over eight years ago. No additional information about the highly anticipated title has been revealed in the years since, though studio head Todd Howard confirmed in March that the game is still in development and early builds are playable.
