The latest update for Destiny 2 brings about a number of fixes and adjustments, including putting an end to a number of issues related to the Rite of the Nine activity. Speaking of the Edge of Fate, more news continues to arrive about the expansion, almost on a weekly basis. Players can not only unlock bonuses for wearing multiple pieces of the same set, but armor will be dropping in various tiers, with higher levels offering better stats and perks. Players looking for a universal skeleton key for DPS in Destiny 2 should look no further than this previously overlooked Exotic heavy weapon.

In the recent update, Bungie has once again made changes to the Rite of the Nine activity. Similar to the Destiny 2 update on June 3, this patch cleans up a few remaining issues players have come across, including the Emissary seemingly duplicating at random in the IX Realm. For those hoping to nab the Navigator’s catalyst inside the Explorer difficulty, Bungie also removed the steps since the catalyst won’t drop even after completing them. Finally, the Ghosts of the Deep chest elevator should now activate as expected, reagrdless if Spire of the Watcher was completed previously.

Outside of the Rite of the Nine, this latest update fixes a number of lingering bugs related to the Destiny 2 Hunter’s exotic Omnioculus chest piece, which wasn’t actually displaying its special effect when the Mechanopupil ornament was equipped. The Seeker of the Nine Triumph has also been progressed slightly for Spire of the Watcher and Ghosts of the Deep, while a bug that was preventing progress being counted towards The Whisper in the Moments of Triumph 2024 Title if players had deleted the quest to complete it from Ada-1.

However, the biggest element of this update for many longtime players is the fact that Bungie is allowing players to change their name. The ability to change a Bungie Name was implemented back in 2021, though there are restrictions upon doing so, including a Code of Conduct. Essentially, this update gives players 1 token to change their Bungie Name, which is then locked in for about 3 months before it can potentially be changed. Bungie has handed out new tokens on occasion, but it isn’t common, so players will want to pick a name they’re comfortable with.
